UUsuario invitadoLa disposición de la habitación es razonable, la zona es suficiente, el baño es excelente, hay tres formas de escoger, el baño es muy grande, el interior y el exterior, el balcón es muy cómodo, el desayuno es un poco autoayuda, buena calidad, la piscina y el spa merecen la experiencia, aunque el bar tiene piano, No puedo sentarme demasiado sin un niño. ¡He matado a docenas de niñas por doce minutos! La privacidad, la ceremonia y la historia son muy numerosas, y hay una oportunidad para hacerlo.

UUsuario invitadoI love creating reviews and social content — especially about ryokan-style stays and onsen experiences. There may be more ryokans in Thailand now, but when a friend recommended Chez Nij Ryokan Onsen, I was genuinely impressed from the moment I arrived.
The blend of Thai, Japanese, and French influences is beautifully unique. Even more special is the history — this was once the residence of the former Governor of Chiang Mai. The house is filled with antiques, charm, and character. Stepping inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly homely. The owner, a doctor and grandson of the former governor, personally cares for guests and shared meaningful stories about the residence — an honor I won’t forget.
Location-wise, it’s peaceful yet convenient. Nimmanhaemin Road is only 8 minutes away, perfect for dining and shopping. Even returning around 1 AM, the owner and night manager were still there to welcome me. The alley is well lit, quiet, and safe, with another hotel and a tennis court next door. A 7-Eleven is just a 5-minute walk away on the main road.
I stayed in the Studio Room with onsen access — incredibly private and peaceful. The tatami design is beautiful, the bed unbelievably soft, and the air quality excellent (my usual dust allergies improved after just one night). The complimentary minibar was a lovely bonus. Direct onsen access from the room is available in the morning only. During female and male sessions, the private door is securely locked and entry is through the changing room — a very safe and thoughtful system.
The open-air onsen is stunning — inspired by the winter sea of Hokkaido and said to be one of the largest in Chiang Mai. Cleanliness and hygiene standards are outstanding. The mineral water left my skin noticeably smoother and deeply hydrated, unlike other onsens I’ve tried. The schedule is very well organized, with separate time slots and thorough cleaning between sessions. I checked in at 3 PM and immediately enjoyed the women’s session. After 5:30 PM, guests are asked to leave for routine cleaning and to dry off properly to prevent slipping — a clear reflection of their commitment to safety and hygiene. Soaking at 7:30 AM in the cool morning air truly felt like having a private hot spring.
Breakfast is served as a generous full set — so abundant I couldn’t finish it all — yet the staff still offered more. Everything was delicious, and the chef personally came to serve and chat, adding such a thoughtful touch. In the evening, a complimentary mini tea set (9–10 PM) made the stay even more charming.
I wrote this from the heart to reflect the genuine care I received. It was absolutely worth it, and I’m so glad I followed my friend’s recommendation. I’ll definitely return to Chez Nij whenever I’m back in Chiang Mai.

Jjuan nkoyeuStay in Villa Mahabhirom was fantastic from the rooms to the service. We were greeted with smiles and warmth by the staff as we arrived at the villa ....special mention to Driver (his name), He is very informative and speaks clearly , The staff including hotel manager Yaya were so pampering. After the checked in we were surprise with 2 birthday cakes, beautifully decorated with fruits and flowers and presented by all the staff of that day with birthday song .. They were so thoughtful and the gesture really touches us.
The villa has the most beautiful garden, very well kept with healthy plants and trees. We were always greeted with smiles and cares as we go in and out of the villa, All the staff are very well trained....good job, Yaya, Driver and Eye. We will definitely come again.

GGuest UserEl hotel me parecio muy bueno, una infraestructura robusta, limpia y ordenado. Habitaciones amplias, el mobiliario era bien antiguo pero se mantenia conservado, el desayuno muy bueno con muchas opciones. El wifi no llegaba bien en la habitación, tenia que salir al pasillo o al lobby para poder conectarme En general fue una buena experiencia en el hotel, destaco el servicio de cada una de las personas que trabaja en este hotel, siempre atentos y preocupados por los turistas

OOlga AlbaMe alojé 6 noche con mi madre y mi hermana en 3 de sus habitaciones, tuvimos que ir cambiando porque nuestra estancia se alargó más de lo esperado porque mi madre tuvo un problema grave con su pierna que la dejó casi un poder andar, solo distancias cortas con muletas. Sin embargo el personal fue atento y amable, siempre dispuesto a ayudar y acomodándonos alguna habitación pese a la reserva en last-minute. Siempre estuvieron atentos a acomodar sus necesidades, como por ejemplo permitiendo llevarle el desayuno a la habitación. Las instalaciones son bonitas y cuidadas, en buena relación al precio y las habitaciones son bonitas y espaciosas, con camas muy cómodas, solo mejoraríados cosas: creo que deberían tener alguna estantería más o colgadores de pared, pues se echaba en falta a menudo; y deberían tener más almohadas extra, daba igual que la habitación sea de una cama doble o dos dobles, siempre te ponian 4 almohadas, pedimos una almohada extra para que mi madre pudiera tener la pierna en alto y nos dijeron que no tenían, lo cuál nos pareció raro o poco anticipatorio para un hotel. Creo que lo normal es proveer con 2 almohadas por huésped, como la mayoría de hoteles. Todas la habitación tienen nevera, lo cuál es muy conveniente. Si vuelvo a Chiang Mai volvería a alojarme aquí.
