A fantastic hotel with beautiful architecture and wooden detailing. Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Free yoga in the morning on the rooftop and a walking tour is provided upon request. The rooms are large with lots of light. The bathroom is functional with good water pressure. For winter, an electric blanket, portable heater and hot water bottles are supplied. Delicious and well priced breakfast. Amazing value for money.

Mi avión aterrizó en Katmandú a las 10 p.m. y el proceso de inmigración fue muy lento, así que salimos del aeropuerto casi a las 11 p.m. Había solicitado con antelación por correo electrónico que me recogieran en el aeropuerto, y pensé que a esa hora tan tardía y sin tener un número de contacto, nadie estaría esperándome. Sin embargo, entre la gente que esperaba coches a la salida, vi mi nombre en un cartel. ¡Fue una sorpresa muy grata y reconfortante para alguien que acababa de llegar! El coche me llevó al hotel, que está en una zona céntrica y muy animada de Thamel. Justo debajo hay un restaurante de brochetas de Chengdu. El hotel es uno de los más altos de la zona, y cuenta con un restaurante de cristal en la azotea, en el piso 12. En el piso 11 hay una piscina y un spa, lo cual es un diseño bastante audaz. El desayuno es bueno y el servicio atento. Es fácil moverse desde aquí, en 6 minutos en rickshaw se llega a la Plaza Durbar. El tamaño de la habitación también es adecuado, pero me molesta un poco que, a pesar de haber pedido un piso alto, me dieron el cuarto. Además, el baño olía muy mal, incluso con la puerta cerrada, el olor se extendía por la habitación. Este problema del mal olor está relacionado con las instalaciones y el mantenimiento, y necesita ser mejorado. ¡Por lo demás, todo muy bien!

La ubicación es buena y el hotel está limpio. No tuve la oportunidad de usar la piscina ni las demás instalaciones, pero creo que son suficientes. El desayuno también estaba delicioso.

Me encanta la seguridad que siento en este hotel después de que me cancelaran en otro hotel local sin darme ninguna solución. Reservé este hotel inmediatamente y me confirmaron la reserva al instante. Quince minutos después llegué y todo estaba listo para el check-in. La habitación estaba limpia y tenía una bonita vista de la ciudad.

El hotel tiene un ambiente muy agradable. Las habitaciones son bonitas y, sobre todo, limpias. Tuvimos que esperar mucho para registrarnos. El empleado insistió en que no podía ver la reserva realizada a través de Trip.com. Finalmente, tras intentar cancelar la reserva, recibió otra notificación.

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

Encantador Hotel, muy bien ubicado y cerca de todo. Con tiendas, cafeteria y restaurant en el mismo sitio del hotel, lo que facilita mucho el encuentro con la familia y amigos. Excelente servicio en un hotel con historia.Muy recomendable

I had a wonderful experience staying at Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment in Thamel, Kathmandu. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The location is absolutely fantastic—right in the heart of Thamel, with restaurants, cafés, shops, bars, nightlife, and everything you need just a short walk away. At the same time, the property itself has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which made it a great place to come back to after exploring Kathmandu. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the room had good Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and having a private bathroom was very convenient. Everything was arranged in a simple but practical way, making the room feel like a good place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. What really made my stay special was the staff and hospitality. Everyone was friendly, polite, welcoming, and always ready to help whenever I needed something. They greeted me with a smile and made me feel more like a welcomed guest than just another customer. Their helpful attitude and warm Nepali hospitality made a big difference to my overall experience. I also really enjoyed the rooftop area. It is a great place to sit, relax, have a drink, meet other travelers, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of Thamel. If you are traveling alone, with friends, or as a couple, I think the rooftop is one of the nicest places to spend some time in the evening. Another thing I appreciated was the overall value for money. You get a great location, comfortable accommodation, helpful staff, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a welcoming atmosphere without paying luxury-hotel prices. For travelers who want to explore Kathmandu and stay somewhere convenient, comfortable, and social, this is a very good choice. I would definitely recommend Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment to anyone visiting Kathmandu, especially backpackers, couples, solo travelers, families, and people looking for a convenient place to stay in Thamel.
