Great location less than 20 minutes from KHH airport. It is within 8 minutes walking distance from SOGO for those who love to shop department stores. There are 7-11s ( more than one!) Family Marts and a PX Mart (grocery store) along each road. Very convenient. The drinks at 7-11 will be cheaper priced than Family Mart and PX Mart and sometimes they will have a BOGO on select items ( I got an extra baby wipe pack by sheer luck). The Family Mart will have more unique items (ex Kombucha, health teas etc). The food selection for both places will be a bit limited for grab and go eats. Think sweet pastries and snacks. They do have some sandwiches but not super healthy if you are vegetarian. The hotel has complementary breakfast that starts at 6:30am ends at 10am. It is a buffet the fills up the entire room. There is a wonderful mix of local foods, one Western style pot. There is a small salad bar, fruit bar, coffee/tea and a small short order cook that will fry up 4 items (eggs, scallion onion omelette, turnip cakes). There is an other side has at least 10 varieties of local foods. The quality is great! Not too oily, 2 congee pots ( regular and Hong Kong Style). Fruits include what is season (Guava, apples, watermelon) and oranges, bananas. I will warn you about the late night snack (Dim Sum) buffet. Located on same floor and it starts at 7pm. That is a busy mad house. The line to queue up starts earlier and it will go down the hall to the stairwell. Lots of tour buses come to this location and tour groups will flood in each week during season. I went during early April for 9 days. I would go to breakfast at 8 am and skipped the nighttime crush. Restaurants are readily available all around and very affordable. This hotel comes with complimentary laundry DIY and laundry powder soap. Make sure you write your room number on the dry erase placard and stick it on each machine you use. Otherwise another guest may accidentally throw their items in and use the machine. The dryers are on top so hard to see what’s on the bottom. There is a free lounge in the lobby that has complimentary ice cream, coffee/tea and jasmine flavored gelatin cups. You can sit there all day if you like and sip on a free espresso or other drink. This hotel comes with a lot of amenities at a reasonable rate— I will stay here again next time.

It’s a very local 4 stars the most, many more to be improved including customer services, waitressing and basic thing like the doorman. It’s tough to describe it giving one example, when we asked for steak(Fillet Mignon) cooked at medium rare, we got it medium. Asking for a key card as souvenir also got rejected, simple thing like placing plates without a big bang on breakfast table… however, I’ll still go stay there as it’s a pretty good 4 star local.

¡Una experiencia fantástica! Llegué a las 17:00 y salí a las 11:00. Me alojé en el hotel todo el tiempo. ¡La habitación y la sauna son geniales! Disfruté de la cena y el desayuno en el Nikko Club Lounge. Sin duda volveré la próxima vez.

La ubicación es buena, cerca de la estación de tren. Si quieres ir a la atracción más cercana, puedes reservar un Uber o pedir ayuda en recepción; te atenderán al instante. Puedes disfrutar de la vista de la estación de tren desde tu habitación.

PAPO’A Harbor Hotel – A Charming Stay by the Harbor in Kaohsiung Durante nuestro viaje a Kaohsiung, decidimos quedarse en el Hotel PAPO’A Harbor, y se ha demostrado ser una gran opción para explorar el distrito portuario creativo de la ciudad. El hotel se encuentra a pocos pasos del Pier-2 Art Center, uno de los lugares más vibrantes y artísticos de Kaohsiung. El barrio está lleno de arte callejera, almacenes, cafés y galerías convertidos, lo que le hace un lugar perfecto para caminar por ahí tanto durante el día como en la noche. Uno de los elementos que hace que PAPO’A Harbor Hotel sea único es su carácter. El diseño combina elementos industriales con toques mínimos modernos, dando al espacio una atmósfera tranquila y ligeramente artística que se adapta perfectamente al distrito circundante Pier-2. La habitación era simple, pero muy cómoda. La cama era agradable, la habitación era limpia y todo se sentía bien mantenido. Aunque el hotel se centra más en el diseño y la ubicación que en las instalaciones de lujo, ofrece todo lo que necesita para una agradable estancia. Algunas habitaciones ofrecen incluso vistas parciales del puerto, lo que añada a la experiencia de estadía en esta ciudad portuaria. Otra gran ventaja es el transporte, y el parada de Light Rail está a pocos minutos, lo que facilita el acceso a otras partes de Kaohsiung, como el río Love, el parque central o la conexión al sistema MRT. En general, el PAPO’A Harbor Hotel es una hermosa estancia de boutique para viajeros que aprecian el diseño, la conveniencia y una atmósfera de puerto relajada. No es un hotel de lujo, pero su encanto, ubicación y carácter único lo hacen un lugar memorable para permanecer en Kaohsiung.

The overall trip was enjoyable, but the hotel definitely needs renovation. The bar felt uninviting—very dark, with only a few tables and no good music, which made the atmosphere quite disappointing. They also charge 200 NTD per person each time to use the sauna, which seems unreasonable. As a hotel guest, I would expect amenities like this to be included. If I have to pay extra for basic facilities, it defeats the purpose of staying at the hotel. Overall, the experience with these aspects was quite frustrating and felt unnecessary.

I booked this hotel because of next day flight. However, this hotel still needs to be access by taxi. Hotel is quiet, room is clean. 2 Water bottles are avb. Theres no facilities avb in this hotel except breakfast and almost all day coffee/tea and chips/biscuits (forgot the exact time). Nevertheless, the breakfast is really below so so, all food is not warm at all and limited choices. We finally went to Starbucks across the street.

Overall the hotel was very nice. It was modern. The check in staff was very helpful and at least one person on staff always spoke English. Note that the staff at breakfast were super cute older ladies and they don't speak English. Pros: Modern design. Newer hotel. Large beds (stayed in a standard quad room). The twin bed rooms were also bigger and nice. The shower was really great. It was super high pressure. Bidet for the toilet. Big bathrooms. You can turn on the vent and dry clothes that you hang to dry. The 13th floor area is nice with snacks through the afternoon and evening and coffee. They provide free sparkling water and regular water for the rooms. Very well designed with great storage since there wasn't much floor space. Cons: Location wasn't really next to many food areas. There's a Starbucks. You have to walk around 5-10 min, which is fine, but it's not the usual vibes you would imagine having in Taiwan. Unlike Taipei, the city is a sleepy town. A lot of businesses are just randomly closed during work hours and regular business days. There is a 7-11. The night market nearby is small. The breakfast needs a little help. After 2 days, it's the same food over and over. We were there for 7nights, so you can imagine it was a bit tiresome. I hope they can provide more variety. Even the soup only changed once. So 6 breakfasts it was miso soup. 1 breakfast was a corn soup (good, but never came back). Another major con is the hotel has no direct email address, so you can't contact them directly. I had to speak with the Leisure group hotels via FB messenger. They never responded via the Line App. We chose this hotel because it's newer and had the room arrangements that we needed for our group (12 rooms). Big buses can wait outside for you. You can't make much noise in this hotel. We got warnings every day and that was just when we were hanging out in the lobby waiting for the elevator. Overall the hotel was good value and great for a soccer team since we had the 13th floor for our team meetings and for hanging out at night.

El desayuno estuvo muy bien y las zonas comunes eran cómodas y estaban bien cuidadas, a pesar de que el edificio es relativamente pequeño. La distribución y el diseño interior aprovechan al máximo el espacio, algo que agradecí. La ubicación también es excelente, a pocos pasos de la estación de tren principal. Me encantó el concepto y el ambiente del hotel, y me pareció especialmente acogedor y práctico para quienes viajan solos.

Excelente ubicación, los únicos problemas que tuvimos fueron las sábanas manchadas (estaban limpias pero viejas) y el olor a cigarrillos en la habitación.
