El Omni Mont-Royal Hotel es un hotel perfecto en Montreal. Excelente vista a la montaña y ambiente tranquilo. Creo que volveré a alojarme en este hotel las próximas vacaciones.
Me encanta este hotel, así que escribe una reseña. La ubicación está en el área central, pero está respaldada por montañas y es tranquila. Adecuado para vacacionistas no advenedizos, puede escalar cerca. El paisaje natural de la montaña Tianhe está fuera de la ventana. Me quedé cinco noches y subí dos veces. Hay muchos restaurantes cerca del hotel, a unos 15 minutos a pie de Chinatown. El servicio del hotel es bueno, los habitantes de Montreal que hablan francés son generalmente educados (los hablantes que hablan chino en voz alta en la calle, por supuesto, tendrán los ojos ciegos), todo en el hotel es gratis y el personal es educado, me gusta este ambiente de vacaciones. La ubicación pensamos a priori que no era la mejor pero después de conocer un poco la ciudad , fue acertada eso si la zona un domingo para cenar, un poco complicado encontrar opciones. La habitación bien y espaciosa, con el baño abierto hacia la misma. La nevera ruidosa y el Wifi no iba muy bien. Confusión en cuanto a si funcionaba o no el restaurante o si podríamos desayunar allí. Tampoco nos informaron. Falta de cordialidad en las personas de recepción, no solo a la llegada que como fue a las 2 pm por un lado “intuimos” que le tendríamos que dejar las llaves al Valet para que nos recogiera el coche (fue muy agradable por otra parte) y ya que teníamos que esperar hasta las 4 pm para entrar, nos íbamos a ir a come, diluviaba y esperamos cerca de media hora en la entrada ( el hall es pequeño y el aire acondicionado estaba alto), Nadie nos ofreció un paraguas. A la vuelta tardaron bastante en confirmarnos que estaba lista nuestra habitación y la persona de recepción no hablaba inglés. Le hicimos saber que no le entendíamos en francés y se empeñaba en contestarnos en francés, eso si el check in (hecho previamente por otra persona )y el cargo de por si acaso en la tarjeta, nos lo habían hecho a las 2pm. Al hacer el check out tuvieron un error importante en el cargo de la estancia que subsanaron inmediatamente pero si nos dejaran comprobar antes de la salida los cargos y el pago (parece ser que es muy común en Canada por lo que hemos visto esa manera de actuar), se evitarían estas cosas, un mínimo chequeo por pantalla y cargo en ese momento en la tarjeta, suficiente por ambas partes. También echamos de menos algo de cordialidad al entrar y salir del establecimiento, las personas de recepción ni levantaban la cabeza ni nos decían un “buenos días/ tardes” nos saludábamos entre los alojados. Mención especial al valet que cuando llegamos a las 4 pm (ya diferente al que nos habia atendido antes), fue a buscarnos nuestras maletas que las habíamos dejado allí guardadas, como no las encontraba nos dijo que subiéramos y en 1 minuto nos las llevaba. Después d estar esperando que nos confirmaran la habitación al menos 20 minutos, él tardó otros mínimo 20 minutos más en subirlas y se esperó a la propina que no recibió. En los siguientes días al cruzarnos con el o se daba la vuelta o incluso le escuchamos alguna frase despectiva en español. Señor Valet no tenemos ningún problema en proporcionar una propina merecida pero desde luego NO estamos obligados a ello aunque muchas veces nos veamos forzados por dejar en buen lugar a España. Desde luego para nada fue lo esperado en un alojamiento de ese nivel.

What a perfect place to stay! Came up from the States for a weekend visit with friends without any expectations since we just found this place from a Google search, but it was an absolutely perfect fit for us. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything clearly, as well as giving us directions to cheap parking. The dorm room was neat and the decor everywhere was charming. The rooftop terrace especially was a lovely place to sit out in the evening. In the morning the communal breakfast felt lively but not too loud and the coffee was delicious. For the location and the price, all of us would absolutely return.

This hotel in Old Montreal has a wonderful location, so close to great restaurants like the new Moishe’s Steak House, and Holder. It is small, clean and comfortable with lots of large windows. The reception and breakfast area is large and light. The Loft rooms are very comfortable and spacious with Molton Brown amenities and a Nespresso machine. The large windows open and have pretty flower boxes. The layout of an ‘open concept’ bathroom and closets might not appeal to all, but we liked the quirkiness. The decor could stand some updating. For example, the two occasional chairs in our room were quite worn and the hallway carpet stained. Our housekeeper was excellent. Reception staff were generally accommodating. The food at breakfast was excellent but the service could stand improvement. One morning it took 30 minutes to get a cappuccino. In fairness, another morning’s room service breakfast arrived promptly. But another morning we seemed to be forgotten. This may be a post-Covid staffing problem however. At check out, a detailed statement of daily charges and credit certificates was lacking. When we arrived, we asked for additional pillows but none were available initially. We got one the second night after the other woman who had it checked out! We would probably stay here again if these small but irritating issues were fixed.

El ambiente está bien, al otro lado de la calle hay un supermercado, ir de compras es muy conveniente. La ubicación del hotel no es muy buena, lejos de la ciudad, es más difícil comer de noche. Hay muy pocas opciones tempranas, casi nada para comer y es igual todos los días. El servicio está bien, la recepción tiene un pasado doméstico, es muy entusiasta y también ayudó a entender muchas preguntas, esta es la única razón por la que creo que el hotel está bien.
