Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

Pasé 12 noches aquí como nuestra primera estadía familiar en Disney. Sin experiencia en Disney, tal vez estemos comparando manzanas con naranjas, pero sin el servicio de autobús gratuito, no vi ninguna razón para quedarme en un resort de Disney la próxima vez, al menos no esta. En primer lugar, 12 noches con lo que dicen es limpieza es absurdo. No hicieron las camas, solo barrieron el piso y tiraron la basura. Los huéspedes anteriores habían dejado nuestra caja fuerte cerrada, por lo que no pudimos usarla los primeros días. Las ventanas dan a los pasillos, por lo que nunca puede tener las cortinas abiertas porque siempre habrá gente caminando. No hay privacidad en absoluto. Las camas eran lo suficientemente cómodas. El baño es donde la habitación muestra su edad. Diminuto, mohoso y amarillo. El inodoro es tan ruidoso que despierta a todos por la noche y puedes escuchar a tus vecinos tirar de la cadena arriba. La ubicación de nuestra habitación cerca del vestíbulo y la parada de autobús fue excelente. Cada vez que íbamos a usar el servicio de bote a Disney Springs, estaba cerrado debido al clima, por lo que nunca experimentamos eso. La piscina era decente pero no suficientes sillas. Cuando viajas con niños, quieres poder verlos en todo momento en la piscina y conseguir asientos a la vista era muy difícil. Los socorristas eran amables y sabían cómo corregir el comportamiento de los niños sin ser groseros. No proporcionan toallas de playa, sino toallas más pequeñas, casi del tamaño de un baño, por lo que envolverlas alrededor de cualquier persona que no sea el cuerpo de un niño es una broma. ¡Necesitas dos! La comida del desayuno es tan asquerosa. Por debajo de la calidad de Denny. En general, encontramos que la comida de Disney (con algunas excepciones) no era comestible, pero la cafetería del desayuno era realmente digna de la cafetería de la escuela secundaria. Una noche comimos pizza que estaba buena y otra probé una ensalada griega. Basura prefabricada, para llevar, enlatada. Las ensaladas de Wendy's son mucho mejores. Todo el mundo se entusiasma con los buñuelos, pero... es una dona. ¿De acuerdo? Tenía muchas ganas de llevar a mi hija al asado de Marshmellow sobre el que había leído en la aplicación. No encontré información al respecto en el resort, así que me detuve en el vestíbulo. Pedí una hoja de actividades y las tres chicas que estaban allí charlando me entregaron una. Ninguno de ellos me preguntó qué estaba buscando, ni se ofreció a contarme sobre las actividades del resort y una vez que mencioné exactamente por qué lo quería, simplemente asintieron y siguieron charlando. Tuve que buscar en Google en qué parte de la propiedad estaba. Otra noche pedí que me enviaran algo al resort. Pasé por el mostrador de nuevo y la chica dijo que comprobara los servicios de botones. No me dijo dónde estaba, y logré encontrarlo escondido a la vuelta de la esquina. Esperé durante 15 minutos antes de que alguien me reconociera (nadie antes que yo, pero tenía que seguir respondiendo llamadas). El joven que trabajaba allí estaba claramente abrumado y no sabía en qué orden priorizar los trabajos que llegaban. Como referencia, mi artículo fue pedido, recogido y entregado en el resort en 19 minutos. En general, pasamos un tiempo divertido en Disney, pero este complejo no agregó ninguna parte de la experiencia. Era una habitación y no una buena. No volveremos.

We had an amazing time at this resort. Everyone single cast member we encountered was very sweet and helpful. The resort was so clean. Food was delicious. The pool was so much fun. The gift shop was great. It was on the smaller side but had so many options. The buses from this resort were awesome. We never waited longer then 5 mins and getting back always seemed so quick. The only downside I can see is the food court doesn't open til 7 so if you are doing early entry to any of the parks you can't eat breakfast before hand. I highly recommend this resort. It's absolutely beautiful and has become my favorite resort.

Visited from the UK in August 24, we stayed 17 nights at French Quarter. On arrival just after 9pm we were given a small map directing us to our room in building 7, 3rd floor. We asked for help with luggage and were just given a luggage trolley (no bell service available) a bit stressful when you’ve travelled for 20hrs but it wasn’t a long walk (just felt it in the heat!). Our room was cool and clean when we arrived, plenty of room for our clothes and things. The bed was comfortable, but the air conditioner was quite noisy and kept me awake the first night. I got my husband to reduce the fan on the a/c which helped reduce the noise the next evening. I could also hear one of the elevators as we were nearby. Room cleaning was done every other day, which was fine for us. I did feel the floor could have done with a bit more effort at times but it was clean enough. Everything isn’t too far to walk to, as a light sleeper I requested a quiet room away from the walkthrough areas and it was generally quiet. We had a corner room so we only really had one neighbour slamming their door/flushing late at night on return from their day. The pool has plenty of towels, comfortable sun loungers and chairs, my daughter also enjoyed the slide and splash park. We didn’t have a car but found the Disney busses fine at the hotel, the times on the app sometimes a little bit later/earlier than the bus arrived but it was fine. We also used Lyft to get around to outlets, supermarkets etc. We used the quick service in the hotel a few times for breakfast and dinner food was as expected for this style of restaurant. It was a shame that some of the customers left their tables in a real mess, I felt the staff really struggled to keep on top of the cleaning due to this. The gift shop was great and stocked a decent selection of food, drinks, meds and of course gifts. All of the staff we met or contacted were really helpful, we had an issue with our fridge freezing which was resolved quickly, our tv wouldn’t work one evening, again I called and they came to reset it. We had a bit of a leaky faucet in the bath, they didn’t manage to resolve this but the rooms were in the process of refurbishment when we left. Generally we had a few very small issues, but they were sorted quickly and it was a nice stay, we would stay again as we liked the size of the resort.

Check in lady was nice and that’s where it stopped. Tea was out in dining area took almost 20 min to get someone to fix it. Fridge in room is frozen over. Shower facet will not stay in place causing the temp to fluctuate pretty largely. Room is warm even on coldest setting. Went to ask front desk if maintenance will override as I’m severe asthmatic. Front desk guy kind of rolls his eyes and goes into the back for .02 comes back and said they said no. I asked even though it’s a health issue and other Disney hotels have done this he says they said no! No offer for a new room or to even have someone come check the system which BTW our room is one of the few the water is pouring out on the sidewalk outside. Had high hopes for this place because I LOVE the French Qtr but was nothing but disappointed! Don’t recommend.

Resort is small compared to most Disney resorts. All rooms are an easy walk to lobby. Quick boat ride to Disney springs. Very relaxed atmosphere and quiet. Rooms have mini fridge and coffee pouch style maker. Beautiful grounds, great staff. No complaints.

Stayed here for two weeks in November 2023. I feel like maybe my previous stay at a Deluxe spoiled me because I don’t see any advantages to staying here over other levels of resort. Pros: the size of the resort is great. It’s very clean and well kept. The grounds are pretty. I think the rooms are a decent size. The cleaning staff I encountered were all very lovely. I enjoy the theming generally but I think it’s lacking something special. The food court is lovely, though basic. Everything we ate was great. The beignets are wonderful. The boat ride is fun. Resort gift shop is lovely with some resort specific gifts. Easy to access the bus stop. Quick walk to the room after a long park day is hugely advantageous. If you love Springs it’s pretty close. Cons: for the money, it’s not special. I’m not a fan of the motel style rooms opening outside. The amenities in the room are basic in terms of build quality and theming, and I dislike having a shower curtain instead of glass. The food choices at the court aren’t huge (they’re fine, just not amazing). It took ages to wait for the boat and then ride the boat (plus the dock at Springs is far away from the things we actually wanted to do). The buses are always busy (though they are frequent) and they take ages to get anywhere (we ended up using the car a lot more than expected). The stops at the park always seemed to be the furthest away to walk to at the end of the night to get the bus back too. No table service. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine. If I hadn’t stayed Deluxe I probably would have enjoyed it more. I’m just failing to see why it’s worth paying more over somewhere like Pop (huge food court, huge pools) or Art of Animation when they have access to the skyliner which is a massive plus. I think I’ve decided that overall, moderates aren’t for me. Either value to go as cheap as possible, or, ideally, deluxe. Would I be fine with staying here again? Yes, if the price was right. Would I actively choose this resort over others at Disney? No.

Great time! Everything was super clean and I’m happy to say that housekeeping has gone back to folding towels in unique ways so that when you come back to the room, there’s a little surprise. When my husband forgot his phone on the bus back from Magic Kingdom, the front desk called the driver and within 20 minutes, they delivered the phone to our room. Definitely recommend.
