As my family and I returned to Kuala Lumpur after the Eidul Fitri celebration, we decided to take advantage of the quieter streets and malls by checking into a hotel in the city. The Sunbow Suites at Berjaya Times Square caught our eye, with its convenient location within the same building as the indoor theme park we planned to visit. Our initial impressions of the hotel were positive, as we were greeted by stunning views of the Kuala Lumpur cityscape from our room on the 43rd floor. The spacious and cozy room featured a comfortable queen bed and separate sections for the toilet and bathtub. We appreciated the ease of checking in quickly after our visit to the indoor theme park, and the cleanliness of the room was fairly up to our standards. However, we did encounter a few downsides during our stay. The furniture in our room appeared to be poorly maintained, with the broken toilet door knob being a significant inconvenience. We had to access the bathroom through the front door, which was not ideal. Moreover, the small crack in the toilet bowl gave us pause. After a while, we were worried about being charged for damage and losing our deposit. Additionally, the outdated LED TV had limited channels, making it difficult to enjoy any shows or movies, despite the high-speed internet in our room. Another downside to highlight was the lack of parking provided for guests staying at the apartment. We ended up paying a total of RM24 for parking, which felt steep, considering the maximum rate of RM12 per day. Just wondering that all the apartment owners at the building must be provided with a parking spot at least. While our stay at the Sunbow Suites Berjaya Times Square was satisfactory overall, we hope that the hotel will take steps to improve the maintenance of the rooms and provide better amenities for their guests. While the location and views were excellent, the broken furniture, limited TV channels, and additional parking fee were disappointing.
