The Scott Arms

We visited the Scott Arms as we were staying nearby in Air BNB - we went on Friday night and Saturday night both times we ate a meal. The Friday was a bit less busy as the weather wasn't as good as the Saturday so we sat inside the pub and had a meal with other family. On the Saturday it was just the two of us and we sat outside as the weather was sunny and warm and the views were outstanding. We also tried the outside menu of **** Chicken served from the outside bar area Everything was superb and would definitely visit this pub again - the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble

Pub garden and views are lovely on a summers day, although quite a lot of the tables and benches are tatty and falling apart. Menu limited to the usual pub fare - burgers, ham, egg & chips, fish & chips etc. Food was ok when it came. I have an issue with the NON-discretionary 10% service charge on any food (which is printed at the bottom of the menu). You have to order at the bar, so nobody actually serves you at your table, when we ordered we said we would happily pay the 10% once we had experienced the service but were told that it is basically the price of the food and the order can not be processed if we don’t pay the full bill. We just didn’t understand why the prices printed on the menu next to the specific items were not the correct prices in the first place. FOR THIS REASON WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO EAT HERE.

Lovely rooms, cleaned and well kept. Would recommend for 2 guests. Friendly staff and rustic charm. Nice to see they’ve kept it modern and fresh. Would love to go back again! Bathrooms cleaned thoroughly.

A home cooked roast is always hard to beat but it's nice to have one made for you. The Scott Arms at Kingston was amazing. The best roast we've ever had out. The beef was perfectly cooked and loads off of it. The pork was shredded and full of flavour with a large piece of crackling. Lovely large fluffy Yorkshire puds. 6 different veg and excellent roast potatoes. Staff were welcoming (even though we had four wet and muddy dogs with us) and really helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Went with friends on 15 September. No lager on tap, no lager in bottles, so asked for Prosecco ….and that was doubtful. Guy had to go searching for a bottle! You would have thought that if the only lager available was Red Stripe that might be telling management something! Have been here many times but will not return until they sort themselves out! Can’t comment on the food but looks overpriced. Only thing going for it is the views from the garden but having said that it looks like the greenery has overgrown. Very shortly they won’t even have the view to sell!

Lovely Sunday Roast with nice views over the beautiful surrounding countryside. You have to book an indoor table to be able to have the Roast menu. Amazing building with thick, traditional stone walls. Recommend, but definitely book at the weekends

We ate at the Scott Arms twice during a short break to Dorset. The menu is extensive and varied with a good choice for vegetarians. The service was friendly and the food was tasty. The beer garden has a fabulous view down to Corfe Castle - we would definitely return.

Very disappointed lunch today with a friend on holiday! I ordered salmon and cream cheese sandwich, salad, and crisps. Apart from the white bread, the rest of the food was substandard. The salmon was off having to leave it after my 1st bite making me gag!!! A shared bowl of chunky chips left an unpleasant bitter taste (you need to change your oil more often) The furniture in the garden was wooden and dangerous!!

Lunch in their large garden area with stunning view of Corfe Castle and the surrounding area. Delicious Ploughman's and sumptuous smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches. A bit pricey but excellent and the service very friendly.
