Wild Atlantic Apartments Killarney

I stayed in block D on Tues and Wed night of this week as we were in town for an Irish dancing competition. The positives were it was a 6 min drive to INEC. Negatives: common areas (corridors, lifts etc) not clean. Apartment itself seemed clean at first glance but on further inspection it was not:, underwear we did not own in wardrobe, chewing gum stuck to back of curtain and under kitchen counter, cobwebs everywhere. On Wednesday night we evacuated as fire alarm sounded at 12.30 am No one from property management appeared, another guest took charge and rang fire alarm company who informed us no fire. We all trudged back to our apartments only to be woken again every hour or so!! Disaster, luckily my daughter had already danced on Wed as this was not the nights sleep any of us needed.

Was supposed to stay here on Tuesday night This was the most filthy disgusting apartment I have ever booked into The bed linen was stained with what looked like blood and excrement The toilet in one of the bathrooms had excrement all down the outside of toilet We left as quick as possible and stayed at the plaza in Killarney The Atlantic appt are a blight on Kerry and a health risk Stay well clear

The apartment was large and clean - plenty of room for a family of 4 - Mum and three teenagers, 2 girls and a boy. We had 2 double beds between us - which doesnt work with an 18-yr old son. The mistake was likely mine in the booking. We asked for another bed, which was provided - a fold-out with so many undulations you could have surfed on it. The bed came without bedding - in an Irish winter - so we had to pester the manager again - who did try her best to be helpful. We ended up raiding bedding under the stairs and my son slept on the couch. We didnt have any hot water for the 2 nights we were there and the heating in the bedrooms was erratic - more often off than on. And the electric jug kept shortening out the electricity, so we couldnt use that either. This was replaced on our second day. The manager tried to assist with the hot water which was on a timer system. We followed her instructions and tried numerous other options to get it working and in the end gave up. A handyman was supposed to come and check it, but there was no evidence of that. All in all it was a cold and stressful couple of days.

Do not stay here. We had to leave after the first night. The door to the apartment would not close. We could not lock the door. After calling the two people responsible for the apartment and waiting for their call back We had to put our 3 very young kids to bed. They did not come to help. They left us like that for the night. I was so afraid someone was going to break in I had to stay awake for the night. We put bags and chairs up against the door to stop it opening. The place was also dirty. I had to clean the toilets before my kids could use them. There was poo on one of the toilet seats! Dirty doors and walls. Rusty kitchen wear. Chipped glasses. The place had started to be renovated. Half painted walls and doors. Screws sticking out of doors that had been painted over. Ect ect. Even after photographic evidence been shown. The place still will not give us our money back. We had to pay for a different hotel for our nights away. It is hard enough to save money to go away. It really put a financial strain on us. We did not get to do things we wanted on the trip. So once again don't stay there.

Do not book - we stayed elsewhere even though we had paid for the apartment. It was dirty and smelled terrible - musty/moldy. And - you cannot contact anyone - everything done via text and email and no one responds to your concerns. Just takes your $$$ and sends you canned responses.

The apartment was basic and on first impressions it was OK but there was an unpleasant smell around the whole place and around the hallways unfortunately, some cobwebs also and we washed any dishes we used before use but this is just a good idea where ever u stay. We stayed for 3 nights and really only used the apartment for sleeping as we had full days planned so it was fine for that and close to all amenities that we could need. For the cost it was very reasonable for a family of 4 compared to other options. So cheap and spacious would be the positives! We didn't have issues with parking and found plenty of spaces available in the evenings.
