Hoteles cerca del ibra＇s gardens ( KONGE), Kampala

Initially, I was unsure of what to expect when the taxi driver mentioned the hotel was far from the center. Upon arrival, the hotel appeared small yet clean. My first interaction with the receptionist was a surprise; despite having paid for the entire week via Priceline, I was asked to pay for the night. Exhausted, I complied, hoping to resolve the issue later. The next day, after inquiring, I was assured that they would sort it out with Priceline and that my credit card could cover any expenses. Two days later, the manager, Ratan, apologized and rectified the situation. The hotel boasts spacious rooms with large, comfortable beds and ample living space. The bathrooms are well-appointed, and the shower provides both hot and cold water satisfactorily. The breakfast offered was simple and straightforward, nothing fancy. The staff is exceptionally polite and efficient. Despite my initial skepticism about staying at Best Western Athena, overall, it turned out to be a pleasant experience.

The size of the hotel was bigger than I was expecting for a ”boutique” hotel. Notwithstanding, the rooms were well spread out amongst a prolific garden, and ours was very quiet, being some distance from the very busy road outside. But a good central location. Staff were most helpful and the food in the restaurant was good when we ate in, though there's a great Japanese option walking distance away

Las habitaciones son muy limpias y la comida siempre es fresca y sabrosa. Este es el primer lugar para comer comida muy equilibrada que no es aceite y demasiado espica. El equipo de escritorio delantero es increíble. Noeline y Yohanna son simplemente los mejores. No he de tener la menor duda de volver a la casa.

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and happy staying here! They offered a great price for laundry, all the staff were so nice and helpful, the breakfast buffet was amazing, and the rooms were so clean! Also, it's incredible that the restaurant offers vegan and organic options. Moreover, I love that there is a wine shop on the premises and a local shop offering African-made products! The only two drawbacks that I will mention is that I had to ask for coffee every morning at breakfast. This would often take 15-20 minutes to serve and I was surprised that coffee wasn't already offered. Also, every morning they started sweeping just outside of the rooms. I could hear this loud broom along the floor at 7:30 am so if you like to sleep in then you need to either bring ear plugs or stay at a different hotel. For some reason, the sweeping was so loud and I was woken up every morning (even with earplugs).

We spent a lovely weekend relaxing at the Four Points By Shereton in Kampala. The staff on the whole were exceptional, very well trained and very courteous, the restaurant staff were very, very good and so attentive. The hotel was very clean and food was delicious and plentiful. I did have an issue with reception regarding an under charge of an extra $50 for two days & $46 payment one day, and after a poor explanation, I still don’t know what it was for, but I tried not to let it spoil my weekend. The gym and pool were excellent, very clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, the room had everything you would need and thr shower was to die for. I could have showered all day. All in all, a great hotel in the centre of Kampala.

There were many other hotels we could have chosen to stay in Kampala but having had such a great experience 4 months ago, we decided to return to the Protea Hotel by Marriott in Kampala. Joan and Charlotte were very good at checking us in quickly. Thank you so much as we were very tired having travelled nearly 20 hours by plane! Maurice, Noah and Rehema were excellent with their customer service by ensuring my mother and I had everything needed for a nice evening. Our room did not have a mini fridge so Maurice suggested he will go and check for a spare one. Maurice brought us one, given the fact that the hotel was almost full. Noah, thank you for all your help in making the tasks I needed completing easier and quick. Maurice, Noah and Rehema thank you for your great hospitality. You were all so kind. Jasper, Sampson and Issac looked after us when we were having diner in our room and made sure we had what we needed by being so quick with their service. They had to run to the kitchen back and forth and were very efficient although they were all very busy that night. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was great with a big variety of food choices. The chef on the night duty made some Poha upon our request, thank you for doing that for us. The Poha was delicious and so were the Indian pakoras. Chef Godfrey made beautiful omelettes as we wanted and went beyond his time to fulfil my mother's need with the chillies. Derrick made us teas the way we liked and the teas were perfect. Cissy and Aisha thank you for your kindness and service. Sharon it was lovely to see you and wish you all the best. The buffet was a mixture of continental and cooked breakfast with a couple of ”chef's speciality of the day” which were delicious! Well worth the money. Samuel, thank you for your speedy checkout and your advice. Thank you all again for your kindness and making another stay wonderful. We will miss you all but promise to return again in the near future. Each one of you have contributed to another great stay and made it even more special, you were all very friendly, courteous and very accommodating. The quality of each of you was very impressive. With regards to the hotel, it was great to see some improvements to the room. The bed was very comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud :) The room was very clean, spacious and the new decor was superb. However the shower gel needs to be changed back to the old style one as the new gel is so runny like water and not soapy at all! Also, the WiFi was a bit slow this time and got cut a few times. Still giving 5 out of 5 stars as each member of the staff were amazing and professional with their duties. Can not wait to see the refurbished version of the hotel in months to come :)

La comida es muy buena, la comida china es excelente y el desayuno es bueno. Es mucho mejor que lo que tuve en Shanghai. Lo extraño mucho cuando llego a Tanzania. Tengo muchas ganas de volver a Uganda. El chef de este restaurante es el mejor que he comido en África. Recomendar

Visited this beautiful hotel whilst on a business trip to Kampala. The hotel lives up to all the values and services one can relate to with Hilton hotels. The clean and chic, amazing food in the restaurant and a very comfortable lounge like atmosphere. Did surpass my expectations in a pleasant manner as I was immediately recognised as a valuable returning guest to the hotel. Kudos to the leadership!
