Just returned from a week at the Aegeon. There are some definate positives here. My room was very spacious with good (and Included) air conditioning, and clean. Good fridge, but no cooking facilities (which I don't care about). My patio had no view or shade but a lot of the rooms do I think. The pool is good, and so is the poolside taverna serving food until 3pm. The burger is above average! There's a lady with short blonde hair that runs the place until about 3pm. I found her a very strange character and completely unreadable. Her son works behind the bar during the same working hours. They seem to have a very close relationship. After 3, either Natasha or Elena takes over. Natasha is great; she is accomplished at everything and even if she doesn't know something (like how to make an espresso martini) she will quickly find out and get it right first time. There are about twenty cocktails on the menu but unless you want either a mojito or a pina colada, I'd recommend waiting for Natasha to be on shift as Elena only knows those two. Her attempt at an espresso martini was just a hot coffee with a splash of vodka in it. This was despite my witnessing Natasha explaining to Elena in great detail how to make it. It was funny. Also don't make my mistake of asking Elena to make up a special cocktail as she didn't know how to make any real ones...She did as asked and it came out a lovely shade of blue. When I enquired what it was called she said it was a secret. I wished it had remained one. I used my gathered wisdom to avoid the Thursday barbeque so I can't comment on the food. The Greek dancing however, was very good but only goes on for about an hour, so don't make the mistake of waiting to get more drunk before you join in! If you want to know anything, only ask Natasha. I can't stress that enough. The people here, and generally on the island, have no sense of humour whatsoever. This in itself can be funny at times but also quite wearing. I stumbled on the breakfast once. No sausages, bacon or any good stuff...just bread, fruit, cereal and boiled eggs as far as I could see. The owner is a grumpy man.
