YMCA Three Arches Hotel

"We stayed as a couple at the YNCA Hotel for a long weekend. While the hotel itself was generally fine, our experience with the breakfast was extremely disappointing. We had booked and paid for breakfast in advance. Upon check-in, we were told there was a “temporary problem” in the hotel kitchen, and that breakfast would be served at the cafeteria in the adjacent sports complex. The breakfast there was poor in quality and variety — very limited selection, unappealing presentation, and missing basic items such as coffee, milk, sweeteners, and fresh vegetables. The food was neither fresh nor tasty. After speaking both with the cafeteria staff and later with the hotel reception, we learned that this was not a temporary situation at all. In fact, the hotel kitchen has been closed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the hotel has not operated its own dining room since then. This was never mentioned to us in advance, and new guests are apparently told it is just a temporary issue. This lack of transparency and the poor quality of the outsourced breakfast were very disappointing and left us feeling misled."

"The Hotel is simply a Jewel in the hills of Jerusalem close enough to the city so you do not feel you out of touch and far enough away so you get a pastoral feel that provides a sort of biblical relaxation. The food , facilities and service are top notch and yet the prices and deals are way more reasonable than the standard luxury choices. The Hotel Manager and his executive team is personally involved with every aspect of making your stay wonderful that you would think you are in a very small bed and breakfast."

"This is a brand new hotel in a beautiful area opposite the Jerusalem Theatre. Easy walking distance into town and to Emek Refaim and lots of other places where you can find good cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and the bedrooms are both modern and luxurious with a super comfortable bed and very plush towels and toweling robes. To complete the fantastic experience the staff are led by a wonderful GM and were all extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it!"

"We were greeted so warmly and appreciated the tea and sweets in the lobby. The architecture inside and out was beautiful including the terrace. Our room was comfortable and clean Each breakfast was generous and delicious with appetizers , pastry basket and choice of hot dish. Hotel was a 20 minute walk to old city and steps from shopping on Ben Yehuda. Front desk was very helpful. We can’t wait to return."

"I am writing this review in the hope that the hotel actually bothers to read and respond to it, as they are not responsive to other mediums. I was booked and paid for my stay at the hotel in April. However due to the situation in israel our flights were cancelled. I messaged the hotel to advise them of this and to request credit if possible for the missed stay. TO date no response- very poor service. Take your money and not care."

"The bad: there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, only in the kitchenette / living room area. This was a big surprise as the hotel says it offers air conditioning - at the least, that's very misleading. When I asked about this, the hotel's response was "leave the door between the rooms open (we did and it didn't help). It also happened to be a heat wave while we were there, meaning the room was extra hot. The good: great location, room was clean, staff was nice, check-in and check-out couldn't have been simpler (literally pick up the key and drop it off), good shabbat policy (can check out after shabbat ends)."
