The Royal Hotel

攜程預訂沒有任何問題首先，但是酒店方面態度極其糟糕，我的朋友在前台等待結果遭到驅逐，認為我們4個人住雙人間卻不問這個問題，直接就是驅趕，沒有任何友善地溝通。酒店差評，直接改酒店了

La prima sera sull’isola ci stavamo recando al famoso ristorante più recensito (che poi abbiamo provato qualche giorno dopo, e si è rivelato proprio niente di che!) ma siccome era chiuso siamo stati qui: che piacevole scoperta! Ambience grande e pulito, personale gentile e cibo delizioso. Abbiamo preso: un bis di salmone scozzese affumicato (carpaccio e filetto) abbondantissimo, ne ho mangiato più qui in una cena che sotto le feste da noi xD e una trota al forno con patate e verdure; nell’attesa, una zuppa del giorno (di carote) con pane (niente di particolare, sapore molto “basica”, ma dopo settimane di patatine fritte in tutte le salse, ci voleva!) e per terminare un’ottima cheesecake. Ci tornerei e lo consiglio

The hotel has a great location but in high season getting parked nearby can be an issue and most car parks only allow 2 hours parking. The bedrooms are a bit tired and my bed springs were fairly obvious although the bed was nice and big. The shower was spacious and powerful and breakfast was hit and miss, rock hard bacon but a plentiful portion. The bar is a bit rough and ready with sweary customers and staff. The restaurant menu online is way out of date and prices have increased significantly since it was posted. The waiting staff could interact with customers more, in fact it would be nice if they actually spoke or asked how the food was. All in all ok for work but not for leisure.

This hotel is terrible in every way. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Staff was rude. Upon check in a surly front desk clerk took our information without even a hello or a welcome. Breakfast, which was included, was inedible. Ended up having our breakfast both days at a nearby bakery on the square which was very good. Could feel the springs on the bed and the pillow were poor quality.

We visited Portree in June which is quite popular. Please be aware unless you have a restaurant reservation you will be hard pressed to find food even at the pizza and 2 pubs. Restaurants were listed as closed on weekend. Not sure about weekdays. Pros Location Dinner at restaurant was good Lots of storage Fans provided if requested View Cons No elevator had to carry luggage 3 floors narrow stairs Uncomfortable bed and pillows Only one window opens No AC Comforter old and drab Small shower Loud music and voices cars heard at night from outside Old furniture Waitress at restaurant was snarky and angry

Common areas in this hotel are stinking. Breakfast was unfit for human consumption. Breakfast dining room was filthy and smelled of stale alcohol. No comfortable area for guests to relax other than their room Hotel staff unprofessional and didn't wear a uniform. Best advice Avoid this dump.

Rooms at the front for the wonderful sea view but very noisy at night - got little sleep Evening food very slow but plentiful Breakfast so slow that after 45 minutes of waiting for breakfast had to leave to catch transport - missed breakfast altogether! Found the staff in the restaurant rather grumpy - everyone else's fault

Hôtel à l’ambiance un peu familial, le personnel y est gentil, mais se limite à fournir le nécessaire et n’en fera pas plus. Le petit-déjeuner en service à volonté est parfait pour bien se ressourcer avant d’aller visiter l’île ou une sortie en bateaux, mais ce n’est pas de la grande cuisine. L’hôtel a un restaurant, ce qui est pratique au vu du peu de restaurants que contient la ville et même l’île. Il est bien pour se restaurer. L’hôtel ne propose pas de parking ce qui est assez problématique vue le peu de place en ville. Le prix y est en revanche très élevé par rapport à la qualité, ce qui est normal je crois sur l’île de skye.

Abbiamo cenato in due nel loro pub e sala da biliardo accanto all'hotel. Per due fish and chips, una Tennent media e una piccola: 46 pound. Una cifra davvero alta, in particolare se si considera che si tratta di un pasto non consumato nel confort del ristorante dell'hotel, che purtroppo non lascia altra scelta che assegnare una valutazione molto scarsa. Peccato perché il fish and chips non era male.
