If you are looking for a cozy, special place for just you, or both of you, we hope you'll stay with us!After traveling for 4 years, we settled in the charming town of West Jefferson, North Carolina, in an established neighborhood, a 5 minute walk to downtown shops, cafes and art galleries. We were thrilled our home included an artist's studio atop the garage, just behind our home, but decided we would prefer to use the studio for friends and family; a guesthouse close enough for socializing but far enough for everyone to have their own space. In between family and friends we are opening our guesthouse, Vogelsang (German for birdsong), to you, and whether you are a couple or solo traveler, we are committed to making you as comfortable as family. There is ample off street parking, 15 stair steps to the studio and a small deck for enjoying views of Little and Big Phoenix Mountains. Inside is a queen bed with soft sheets, plenty of pillows (you can never have too many pillows), comforter and extra blankets for those cool nights in the mountains. The bath has a shower, toilet, small sink, towels and ample hooks. A dorm frig, microwave, coffee maker and coffee, is in the nook. If you or your companion are super tall, you may find the 6'9" ceilings confining. The entry door is 5'8" and everyone instinctively ducks, even if they are only 5'2". But once inside, you will find everything you need for a cozy, comfortable stay. You will enter the cabin into the great room with a gas log fireplace enclosed in a floor to ceiling rock wall. The adjoining, open kitchen has stainless appliances and a dining area.The bedroom has a queen bed, armoire, and night table . There is an overhead fan and a pedestal fan.
