Hotel stay was ok, very clean but beware there is no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage you’ll kill yourself getting it up the stairs. Also, the hotel is in a very very busy and noisy area of town, great view to the harbour but mind your feet if you’re crossing the street.

What a special place! The staff are friendly and accommodating, everywhere is spotlessly clean and the rooms are well designed with comfortable beds and good showers. Located next to the Marina it's well placed to head out for a meal or a walk around Horta but despite being in a busy area the double glazing and shutters meant that we weren't disturbed by traffic. I'd really love to come back one day

We had a one night stay here, and will definitely be back. The hotel is fantastic, and we absolutely fell in love with Faial. The hotel is very professionally and lovingly run. The location is perfect, right on the marina and super close to Peter Sport Cafe. We booked the Blue Shark room (family of three), but due to an issue, we were given the Squid room, which was one floor above. This was an upgrade, I assume, as we were one floor higher and the view of the marina and Pico was exquisite (3rd floor using the floor counting system in USA). The room had one big bed and two twins. The bathroom was well appointed. A pleasant surprise was the use of a kitchen, which was located a few steps above our floor in the rear of the hotel. I could imagine that folks who like AirBnB might appreciate this, as it allows great flexibility. We were given a key for a locker in the kitchen, but our stay was too short to avail ourselves of these facilities. I really appreciated how well thought everything was. Also, as this is a small hotel, be aware that the office closes at 8pm. We were given excellent instructions and a key at checkin for the front door, which locks at 8pm. I do not believe that there is an elevator, as one would expect for a small hotel in a historic building. So be aware and ask for help if you need it - the staff at the hotel could not be more friendly and accommodating. Like most of the Azores and much of Europe, the beds are firm by US standards.

Location was kind of ideal to the center of town, ferry terminal. But a bit noisy, however didn’t bother me, I’m a good sleeper. Beds were cheap, but acceptable. Room was pretty clean, same for property in general. Overall, a solid experience!

Very clean. Staff were welcoming and accommodating of our early morning arrival after the transatlantic flight. Great kitchen and rooftop patio, even a locked storage cupboard for each room. Take into account you are staying near street level in a busy port at the most famous local bar, so expect some traffic and noise at night. highly recommend.

Chambre relativement grande et propre. Le bruit évoqué dans les commentaires précédents est une réalité : il y a deux grandes rues parallèles à Horta (sens unique) et l'hôtel donne sur la patte d'oie. Donc c'est bruyant. Ca reste un bon rapport qualité-prix si vous restez à Horta pour visiter Faial.
