South Lodge

The stay was close to perfect. Very nice spa, beautiful ground, high quality restaurants, good service. The room did get a bit too hot on a 30 degree day despite the electric fan provided by the hotel.

Mi esposa y yo nos hospedamos aquí el viernes para darnos un capricho. Reservamos una suite y era enorme. La cama era comodísima y nos ofrecieron aperitivos excelentes. Un punto a favor es que eran veganos. Pasamos mucho tiempo en el spa y fue genial. Las piscinas y todos los baños de vapor eran fantásticos. Los vestuarios también estaban bien. Comimos en uno de los restaurantes y en el bar, y estuvo muy bien. Sé que estoy elogiando todo, pero la experiencia en general fue fantástica. Todo el personal fue muy amable y atento. ¡Incluso me dieron un montón de galletas extra que me encantaron! Me hice un facial en el spa con Siobhan y fue genial. Lo disfruté muchísimo. Sin duda volveremos. Era muy caro, así que no puedo decir que tuviera una buena relación calidad-precio, pero elegimos una habitación de lujo. La próxima vez reservaremos una habitación estándar, y seguro que volveremos. Gracias, South Lodge.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Spa Lodges which was excellent it had everything we needed . We were blessed with the weather so spent a lot of time on our terrace overlooking the lake. The fridge had supplies in it complete with milk of our choice. You can have breakfast in the hotel or they will deliver a hamper to you we did both and both were very good. In the lodges you are added to a WhatsApp group where the staff communicate with you. This works so well. We had a lovely lodge host Lucy who also collected us if required in a buggy. The spa is excellent. The pools , the hydro pool , the saunas , steam rooms & changing rooms. My personal favourite was the wild pool outside. We did not have any treatments as no time. The spa facilities were clean and lots of fresh towels & robes available. The only disappointment was we asked if we could pay for our guests who joined us for lunch on Sunday to have a pass for a few hours in the spa but we were told this was not possible. We ate in Botanica on the Sunday when the two family members joined us. We were served by Harry and a lovely young man who was on his first shift. Harry was excellent he was knowledgeable about the menu , he was warm & friendly. The staff seem quite young at SL but all of them are very good at their jobs and very friendly. The grounds are lovely and there are some great walks to be had from the hotel. The guest relations team are incredibly helpful. We look forward to visiting again soon

We had a wonderful family stay at South Lodge Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome, and the service throughout our stay was impeccable. The hotel grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained, providing plenty of space for relaxing walks and enjoying the surroundings. The facilities were excellent, with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools that the whole family enjoyed. Our room was spacious, cosy, and very comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring the hotel and grounds. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a great selection of delicious food and excellent quality throughout. Overall, South Lodge Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to everyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

We went to South Lodge as a family of four, the two of us plus our twin three year olds and I honesty can't say enough good things about the overall experience. The staff across the board were incredible and were all just the sweetest to our kids. The hotel itself is so beautiful and so well kept plus to just watch your kids run up and down the massive lawns all day is just the best. I would highly recommend staying here as a family.

My wife and I love a spa hotel mini break and so were very excited when a good friend recommended South Lodge to us. We completely lucked out on the weather and time of year to visit - the UK had a heatwave and the South Lodge's gardens and grounds were in full bloom - we have never seen so many beautiful rhododendrons. Our good fortune meant that during the 4 days and 3 nights we were lucky enough to stay at South Lodge we had every meal outside! Where to begin? As always with luxury hotels the facilities at South Lodge were absolutely world class. The hotel combined the old and the new with equal aplomb - our room (Cristata) was in the new section and whilst it didn't face the grounds with what would have been an incredible view, it was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had a bathroom that we could have easily got lost in! The Spa was probably the best we've ever been too - so many great features including a large outdoor seating/sunbed area, outdoor bar and swim pond (in which fluffy baby moorhens are currently residing!) that was heavenly to cool off from the 30+ degrees, an outdoor hot tub of epic proportion, indoor pool, gym (we even managed a kettlebells and TRX class whilst there - to work off some calories!) and finally a brilliant restaurant in Botanica where we had breakfast every day, and an evening meal. Special thanks must go to Ian and his colleagues who worked tirelessly in all that heat to ensure a fantastic guest experience. We also loved the wild swimming in the lake by the Lodges - a real treat. We also dined in Camelia, and that in itself was a lovely evening and gastronomic experience - the first time I've ever had Steak tartare and it was delicious. Again the staff made it so special, and in particular we thought Gracie was excellent, boundless energy and constantly smiling despite the heat and the long shift she had undertaken. Would we come again? Definitely, in a heart beat. South Lodge is a real treat, one of the best hotels we've stayed at, and we would thoroughly recommend if you were looking for a bit of luxury and being made to feel very special.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever stayed in — every detail felt elegant, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so genuinely welcome; their kindness and attentiveness really set this place apart. The service was exceptional throughout, and it was clear the team take real pride in what they do. The staff knew the menu perfectly and offered fantastic recommendations, making our dining experience feel seamless and special. What meant the most to us was the way they celebrated our birthdays — such thoughtful, personal touches that made the whole stay feel truly unforgettable. It’s rare to find somewhere that combines such stunning surroundings with such heartfelt hospitality. We left feeling so well looked after and already can’t wait to return.

Another great stay at South Lodge. This was my third stay and I can safely say it is consistently fabulous. Great service, spotless spa, spacious and not overfull. The breakfast was delicious too. Very relaxing.
