"A truly unique stay in a genuine medieval castle, and I chose the Josephine Suite, one of only a few rooms available. I especially loved the medieval windows in the room—perfect for taking photos. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and overall, the value for money was good. The nights were very quiet with almost no light pollution, allowing for beautiful stargazing. The castle tour is highly recommended; a dedicated staff member will guide you through the entire castle and up to the top, offering stunning views. There are even peacocks in the courtyard! If you're looking for a truly unique castle stay, this is highly recommended."

"La cama muy baja y la cama dura curvada, así que las piñas caen atrás. El desayuno publicado 17.50 cuando se va a cobrarle por los artículos individuales que resultan muy caros. Estacionamiento sólo 7 coches gratis en el parque de autos subterráneos. Bar tiene una cerveza horrible borrada si te gusta la cerveza con sabor de limonea tu ok. Preguntó por la cama de sofá para otro huésped cuando llegó no se levanta ni cama. Después de pagar mucho dinero por 1 noche estadía pensado que ot wd será bueno. Lo siento, pero no reservaría este hotel de nuevo"

"Esta es una gran opción si planea ir al Observatorio de Kielder como es una caminata de 20 minutos. La habitación era agradable y funcional. El mayor plus fue la comida. La cena y el desayuno fueron deliciosos y se sentía muy a la altura con gran valor para el precio. La zona de cena también es muy acogedora y todos eran amigables. El único pequeño desventaja es que el check-out es relativamente temprano a las 10:00 si se suma a una de las sesiones de la noche atrasada en el Observatorio que terminan a las 01:30."

No air con or fan on one of the hottest days of the year. No food. Parking on street. Room was dated and bathroom small. For the price I expected better. The room was not serviced for the second day and had to ask for more milk and tea. Previous reviews painted a much different picture"

"A simply amazing stay. Firstly Ian and his team helped us remedy an error made by ******* on booking rooms at the Bowes hotel. Really friendly and interpersonal staff along with extensive knowledge of the area and further beyond particularly Hadrian's Wall path along with the Roman Museums and Forts. The food served was amazing aswell, better than some other independent restaurants, also the Thai-cakes are a must try! The room is clean and tidy with a great buffet breakfast to boot, they also make lunch for your journey ahead. If you are staying at Bardon Mill, this is the place to be, just a walk away from the station that connects back to Newcastle. Friendly neighbourhood and locals that shares stories from their journeys and also fellow travellers from around the world mostly doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. I cannot fault this wonderful and cosy hotel and pub that is the Bowes Hotel!"
