Black Bull Bellingham

We had an amazing night at Black Bull Hotel Bellingham last night for our Christmas meal. Food was amazing! And service and atmosphere was brilliant. Thank you so much to Cayley, Marcus and their fantastic staff. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere nice and friendly to go for a meal

Beautiful food and good portion sizes. Very tasty . We had the black bull beef burger and chicken burger. Both came with homemade chips,onion rings and coleslaw. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely cosy pub. Would highly recommend it you are passing or in the area.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere, great food and drinks. We stayed one night in the hotel. The rooms were spotless, clean and had everything we needed. An amazing open fire down in the pub, could have sat there for hours will defiantly be returning!

Having read the reviews I wasn’t sure but we thought we would give it a go. I rang at 4pm to ask what time they were serving food until. We were told it was 7.30pm. So we arrived at 6.40pm to an almost empty pub. There were people at two other tables. There was no one at the bar with 2 customers waiting and another customer had to go and find the bar staff. Once we got to order drinks, we were told they may not be serving food as they had a darts match (this seems to be a recurring theme from the other reviews). The bar staff asked the kitchen and told they already had an order for 8 people so couldn’t accommodate our order. So we had to leave. I did say to the bar staff that this seemed a recurring theme from previous reviews and she said they had just taken over. Looks like not much has changed. We ended up going to The Cheviot across the road for a much more pleasant welcome. It also is a lot nicer inside and we were a lot happier to be eating there. We plan to return to the village for future holidays but will not be attempting a meal at the Black Bull. They are just not reliable, particularly when we rang to check times of service.

We went here fora mid week evening meal with my parents and had a truly awful experience. We ordered food at around 7 pm and then we waited and we waited, other people arrived after us and were served before us, in fact everyone was served before us. When we complained over the two and a half hours we waited for our food the excuses where: There has been an issue with the food order going to the kitchen We were closed Monday and Tuesday and so the food prep has meant we are behind Everyone has arrived at once for order food The kitchen lost the order but it’s not our fault When the food did arrive not only was it slammed down on the table by a very rude member of staff, but it was so dry to be virtually indelible. Then after all that we were told all that could be done is to offer us a reduction from the bill, and we were very much made to feel that this was all our fault Needless to say there are other places to eat in Bellingham and we will never go here again and instead will visit the other places instead

This place was amazing I had fishcakes and halloumi, lovely, with a very tasty salad Hubby had steak pie and chips and was well impressed The staff are very friendly and super helpful. The place is clean and has a modern but traditional feel to it
