We had the private onsen room. Good service. Very clean. Food is good too.

Beautiful older style hotel, staff are attentive , baths are beautiful and comfortable beds, amenities is nice too with dyson hsirdryer. Fantastic location. The only downside is room a little outdated with mould on the ceiling and inside the wardrobe.

Very old school classical Ryokan. Very close to the train station and all the shops, so location is a huge plus. I like the riverview of our room alot. There was some drizzling during our stay, so the entire scene was very picturesque and relaxing, I love it. The The hot springs are half indoor and half outdoor, very typical so nothing too special. Food (we ordered Kaiseki) was just OK but as expected. Staff was very friendly, about half of them are foreigners (including frontdesk) and half are Japanese. I can understand that having foreign employees on staff are pretty convenient for certain guests, but for certain guests who want are looking for some authentic 100% Japanese experience, this would be a little strange.

A place stagnate in time, with timeless charm and good environment. Located conveniently nearby to Yumoto Station is a great plus for laid back area of Hakone. Service staff are friendly and attentive to details, and have no difficulty to communicate in English. Recommended for slow pace holiday

The hotel was the worst experience we had this trip to Japan, even though it was the most expensive per night stay compared to the other hotels we stayed in this trip. The hotel should never have sold this room to anyone. Although the location was great and hotel facilities such as onsen were decent, this particular room was completely unfit for staying. The hotel assigned us room #325. We found the room to be too hot for our comfort, but there was no way for us to lower the temperature of the air conditioning. We could not open the window to cool down the room because the outside (1) stinks, (2) was noisy from many air compressors, and (3) has easy access to our room. The hotel tried to resolve the issue by giving us a mobile water fan to cool down the room. Nevertheless, it still did not sufficiently cool down the room, and was very noisy. In addition, the toilet also had bad smell from drainage pipes. We did have a good sleep that night and were very disappointed even though we enjoyed Hakone, the town, very much.

The staff are extremely nice and helpful. The food is of very good quality. Japanese style breakfast and dinner. The portion is adequate. The onsen bath is also relaxing. A nice place to revisit.

Friendly staffs and nice onsen. Good food both breakfast and Kaiseiki for dinner. Self service welcome drink so good!!! Perfect location after a full tour day.

Good service and location to nearby tourist attractions. Room is spacious. Enjoy the stay. Only negative comment is hotel seems to be under-staff to serve meal.

Great river view from our room! Traditional Japanese music and dance performance by geisha professionals during dinner time, which was a great experience. We will definitely stay here next time.

The dinner was really bad: -beef is fully cooked and texture is tough - cooked crab is smelly - grilled fish is hard and does not have taste Also, my room has 3 huge problems -the water in the shower area cause flood - there is a big spider found in the room. - air condition in living room is noisy The worst part is I sent my complaint to the hotel for 2 weeks, there are no respond.

Good location. Nice big room with comfortable beds and pillows. Room was very clean. Great sauna bath area. Great customer service. Staff very helpful.
