This is a little different kind of review. Generally speaking, the Econolodge is fine. It's not a fancy hotel but it's a REALLY nice Econolodge. Unlike most, it's not located at the entrance to a freeway or in the industrial part of town. It's clean, it's safe, and a perfectly fine place to stay for a few days. I really like the staff there as well . . . no problems there. So, why the two star review? Well, they're closed now. The hotel no longer exists and, while that might not seem like a big deal, we have an active reservation there for our daughter's commencement. The hotel is no longer even listed on the Choice Hotels site but our reservation still shows as confirmed. We are driving from the West Coast to Hadley and so some sort of notification that there's not only "no room at the inn" but "no inn," would have been nice. Since it's graduation weekend, almost all the other hotels are sold out. The one that still has a room is literally double the price which, sadly, we can't afford. So, we're sorry to see the Econolodge go 'cause it was one of the few reasonably-prices motels in the area. On the other hand, it sure would be nice if someone contacted us to tell us it's no longer there. (Wanna bet that we'd be charged the first night fee anyway, if we didn't cancel in time?) 4-star "discount" hotel . .. 0-star management company. (Not staff!)
