"We are writing to inform Tripadvisor readers of 4 things about Chateau Bellevue: 1) Charlotte's cooking is exceptionally good The restaurant was full or almost full every night, and most of the customers were French. Everyone seemed to be having a lovely time 2) We ate a la carte as well as on the demi-pension menu. For 7 consecutive nights we had the demi-pension menu and we never had the same dishes served up again. So unlike some previous reviews, we would say that it is entirely reasonable to dine here for many nights and NOT get bored with the food. In fact the only problem is that some of the dishes served up were so good that we were dying for them to be served up again. 3) The Chateau is beautifully kept with a lovely terrace and swimming pool. The room was perfectly comfortable. 4) All the staff are fantastic and try so hard to keep you happy . Emilie ,Thomas and Charlotte run Chateau Bellevue as a family concern and it truly shows . They are dedicated to the place and this gives the whole establishment a very bespoke and welcoming touch. We are writing a series of Travel books , and they made time from their very busy schedule to talk to us about Gascony, France , cooking and the intricacies of running a hotel-restaurant in 2025. Le Monastère de Saint Mont Hôtel & Spa

"The worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Do not book, avoid avoid avoid. We visited this hotel for a 3 night stay as we were attending our friends wedding close by. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm although on the booking it says 3pm. They told us there was no bar we had to sit and wait for them to take our order. We were told off for making noise and we were told we had to stay quiet for the other guests, we were only talking and laughing with our friends. We booked a table for the evening meal and our friends were served food they couldn’t eat due to being pregnant. This was raw fish, and they continued to serve this to us for breakfast even though we had already explained we didn’t want it. The staff didn’t let us look at a food menu and told us we would be served what the chef wanted to cook. The chef (owner I think) was a horrible rude man. He dismissed our requests for food and drinks, I have never experienced this in a hotel before. We were starving so we went to get some of our own food to eat in the hotel and the staff told us we couldn’t do this and we had to bin the food we had bought. The pool was dirty and the area around it was dirty. The hotel smelt awful too. It was my friends wedding morning and she was getting ready in the hotel and the staff were repeatedly rude to us. They kept knocking on the door telling us to be quiet and that we couldn’t eat our own snacks. The lady and man that own this hotel have no customer service skills what so ever and are extremely rude. They made us feel like they didn’t want us there in the first place. Please do not waste your money. We had the worst stay ever and would never return. We actually left early due to being extremely upset about our stay."

"Seemingly the last room available, it was sold (over 100 Euros) as a superior room! It was two single beds (only one pillow each so glad it was just me) and was on the front of the hotel with the window about 3' from every passing truck. I have (sadly) spent 30 years staying in hotels for work and this was the worst night's sleep I've had in all that time. The road outside is incredibly busy so sleep was just not an option. Also, there was nowhere to hang clothes at all, the desk light didn't work and if there was any hope of dozing off through exhaustion, anybody else having a shower on that side of the building made it sound like my bathroom was going to flood with the sound of water. Never again."

"Le doy esta 5 estrellas para el restaurante. Seriosamente uno de los mejores platos de mi vida. 5 menú de sabor de curso con vino paring 88 euros. Esta no es una serie de pequeñas piezas, sino porciones decentes servidas con vino realmente excelente. El hotel está muy bien situado, y el hotel está muy bien situado."

"La habitación era cómoda. La comida en el restaurante del hotel era buena. El personal era amable y amigable. El hotel está muy cerca de varias tiendas, restaurantes, bares y la catedral. Este es un agradable hotel para ir por usted mismo. Creo que este hotel también es un buen hotel para ir con la familia."
