Just got back from the Regency Cliff after a very comfortable stay. The hotel is very well maintained and our room (suite) was very well equipped. We would prefer a separate shower but the one provided was very powerful and the bathroom was huge. A very comfortable bed with a lovely view of the sea to wake up to. The balcony was a good size, not overlooked and with a very good view. The small kitchen area with fridge and sink was useful. The separate lounge with dining table was very comfortable. The staff we spoke to were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts which had a good choice of everything. We ate out mostly however we had dinner on one occasion and it was a very nice buffet style meal with good wine. The hotel is well located being slightly away from hustle and bustle of the main town area of Funchal. The rooms were very quiet with only the sounds of the waves breaking the silence. There are plenty of nice places to eat locally. Buses conveniently stop nearby and taxis are cheap. Definitely a good choice for us, and would return.

This is definitely not a 4 star the rooms need updating the pool staff need some communication skills good for location buses and shops pool way to small and need more than 6 umbrellas for the pool indoor pool freezing breakfast just ok but not great There was a fog across the road that constantly barked The interior walls a bit thin as you can hear the next doors TV

Returned again to this beautiful hotel. The service was first class and could not be faulted. Rooms are large, spacious and comfortable. The pool are is small but always clean and tidy. Cannot praise the hotel enough. Looking forward to returning next year.

A lovely quiet peaceful hotel with lovely sea views from each room. Easy access to Funchal via the courtesy mini bus. Stayed here a few times but this visit found some new staff unsure what they were doing? The guy looking after the small pool outside seemed keen to start tidying loungers etc too early in the afternoon. The breakfast needs a bit of change almost same things every morning. The orange juice tasted like diluted orange 😬The room furnishings are outdated dark brown. We were only given one key card for the room we should have two! The two balcony seats in room 208 are plastic cheap ones , no cushions so not easy to sit on for a period of time( did anyone from the hotel try these! We will return to the hotel at some stage as it is very peaceful and the location is great……staff training and furnishings need improved

Location great hotel not a four-star not enough umbrellas toaster was broken indoor pool was not heated The pool outside and inside is only enough for about six people pool man was very rude if you’re coming here for the beaches well no good beaches

We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our stay in Madeira. Wonderful surprise to be upgraded to a suite when we returned. Breakfast choice is excellent with everything freshly prepared. Recommend after a long day taking a drink on the rooftop with a stunning view of the sea below. Underground parking for a few cars and excellent location to take a walk along the coast. Lidos close by for a swim.

We stayed only 4 nights - upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite which was such a pleasant surprise and made us very happy! The room was generous in size with two/double aspect balconies. The hotel is small, which we liked and adult only. The clientele seemed mostly mature adults and was very quiet, but in a good way. The outdoor pool is a plunge pool, so on the small size - there is an indoor pool but also not that big if you’re keen on length swimming it’s not for you, however, the hotel is just above a public lido which offers a selection of pools including freshwater/wild swimming. The hotel is clean with good CV19 procedures in place and the hotel/bar staff were all very nice, highly professional but amenable. The hotel arranged our airport pick-up/drop off which was charged to our bill and worked very well. It’s in a great location. We would return.

A little out of the center you find this excellent hotel with very professional friendly staff. Daily the most beautiful ocean views during your breakfast from a well filled buffet. From your balcony the same view and the endless sound of waves breaking on the cliffs below.... a truly wonderful place to stay.
