"Me and my disabled partner arrived here to stay for 1 night. My partner could use the elevator, for which we were very grateful. They've also just opened a pool on the rooftop terrace. It's very small but great to cool down on a hot day. The room was spacious enough with a proper balcony. Unfortunately we hardly slept because the mattress was really hard. My partner was in pain because of it. The breakfast was lovely and the family who runs it is so warm and welcoming. They've also just adopted a puppy, little Spitha. Adorable but quite loud from time to time. We had dinner at Vergara, where Vivi gives you an unforgettable experience. I would recommend it to anyone. We would love to come back some day, just need to look at the mattress situation."

"We recently stayed in a charming bungalow accommodation and found it to be quiet, pleasant and comfortable. The bungalows are clean and nicely maintained, each featuring a nice private terrace set in a peaceful garden. The space is modest but functional. The layout is flat and easy to navigate, making it very suitable for guests with disabilities or young children. Parking is limited. Staff is friendly and efficacious. Breakfast is simple but enjoyable, with tables outside in the garden area. We did not tested dinner; the buffet was small. Matala beach is close, well equipped, not too crowed at beginning of the season (end May). Water shoes needed. As already identified multiple time in previous evaluation, there are many stray cats in/ around the hotel, most clearly in need for food and care. The current situation of hungry, unsterilized cats leads to overpopulation and suffering. This is causing distress both to the animals and to guests. The hotel management should organise sterilization and sufficient feeding stations. They are quiet and nice cats; many are/could be domestic ones. It’s heartbreaking. Until hotel management act, if you’re still planning to stay here and if you care about these animals, help: feed them discretely/sign on-line survey to authorities/donate to Creta association/adopt and/or continue lobbying hotel management. Stray cats are everywhere in Creta; I did only see worst in Cyprus with mistreatment and dying cats. Greece is worse than Africa on this topic. Situation in/around Matala is extremely bad, up to cats poisoning by exasperated; I did not find any local stray cats feeding/sterilization charity !"

"Viví dos semanas y me divertiba mucho. La habitación es muy simple, pero siempre se limpia bien. La cena es una comida familiar griega, hay muchas verduras en el menú, muy deliciosa. En particular, Musaka y la sopa son muy deliciosos. No sólo el jefe y su esposa, sino también el personal son muy amables, y quiero ir de nuevo. A caminar desde el hotel hasta el mar por unos 20 minutos, hay muchas personas en la playa más cercana de Matala, así que me gusta Komo, conducir por unos 10 minutos. No sólo es un mar hermoso, sino también una poca gente, así que puedo relajarme."
