After reading some of the reviews before staying at this hotel I have to say I'm not surprised. I totally agree with the comments that this is not a true 5 star hotel at all. The positives are the location, the pool area and the rooms (to an extent). From one way its only a short walk to the medina and from the other it's a short walk to the beach bars. The pool area is well maintained and very attracting. The rooms are a good size with comfy bed and powerful shower and they are very clean. However, we started off by having to change rooms as the room we were first given had a chipped bath - all the paint had come up off the bottom of the bath so it was unusable, the staff solved this pretty quickly by offering us a room of the same standard one floor above. Nevertheless, I find it shocking that a 5 star hotel would not maintain their rooms in the first place. We found the cleaning staff and concierges very friendly. Some of the breakfast staff and beach staff, less so. One day we sat on the beach beds and felt looked down on and were not treated as well as some of the other guests. This really put us off and prevented us using this area again. Not sure if this is because we are a younger/mixed couple? Overall, the hotel is lacking in a lot of areas and the Accor group need to look into this. I would definitely visit Essaouira again but would probably rent an apartment since the beach and medina have so many options anyway!

Pronto estará bien, el hotel en Marruecos es básicamente el mismo y hay un pequeño episodio en el medio. Esperamos a que el camarero de kung fu en la planta baja pensara que nos marchamos y dejamos las cosas en la habitación, pero todo está bien. Mirando hacia atrás, todo lo demás está bien

A home away from home. Friendly, clean, safe, and filled with character, we loved our stay at Riad Watier. So much so, that when our plans changed after the devastating earthquake in the Atlas Mountains, we simply returned to Ryad Watier for another stay in Essaouira. LOCATION - - The ryad is centrally located, close enough to the medina, shop stalls, restaurants, without being in the middle of it. A 5 minute walk to the beach. YOUR HOSTS - - Fatiha, Hyatt and Rashid were so welcoming, making us feel at home immediately, and filled with ideas and suggestions for excursions, sightseeing, shopping and where to eat. Nothing was too much effort, and everything was done with a genuine smile and warm Moroccan hospitality. Jean-Gabriel the owner, was a delight to meet, filled with interesting stories and good humour. All the cooking & housekeeping staff were so friendly and accommodating. ROOMS - - each room is different, charmingly decorated. Messaouda room was large, with a large bathroom, bright and cheerful, with a fireplace and the MOST comfortable bed. FACILITIES / MEALS - - Laundry, on-site hammam (WONDERFUL!), library, high speed internet, a rooftop terrace for sunsets/sunrises. DELICIOUS and full breakfast, served with a smile. I am sure we will return again to Riad Watier - see you soon, Fatiha (inch'allah!)

Estaba aquí con mi novia por una noche. Estacionamos en el parque principal de autos de Essaouria, donde hay portadores que llevarán sus bolsillos al hotel en un coche que cuesta 20 dirham. Este hotel tiene dos de sus propios portadores que pueden ser identificados por los logos en los coches. No se puede conducir a la antigua ciudad. El hotel es un hermoso Riad, muy elegante. El regalo del propietario tiene una cálida bienvenida y un café muy agradable a la llegada. La habitación era agradable, pero desgraciadamente no perfecta. No nos molesta, pero sin duda se despertaría un dormitorio ligero. La terraza del techo es muy bonita y hay una cocina donde se prepara y sirve el desayuno. El desayuno era muy bueno. En el checkout, el propietario llamó a un portador que vino a recoger nuestros bolsillos, así que fue agradable y fácil. Sin la cuestión de limpieza, la cuestión de drenaje y los bloques de puertas ruidosas, sería un 5/5. Pero, basándose en mi experiencia personal, 3/5 es justo. El hotel está muy bien situado, pero no importa el precio, espero que todo en una habitación funcione correctamente y sea completamente limpio.

Lovely riad with exceptionally helpful staff. One of the two buildings is part of the sea wall, so there are incredible views from the terrace and some rooms. Breakfast is delicious, and the hotel sells a small range of wines and beers at reasonable prices. Don't expect aircon etc as this is a traditional riad, but the rooms are comfortable and spacious. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Riad muy agradable, con una decoración refinada, luminosa, en azul, como me gusta! Estabamos en el tercer piso, con salida directa sobre la terraza, habitación bastante pequeña, pero muy agradable, letra dorada, Bañera inmejorable con ducha fácil de ajustar (no siempre es obvio )Un desayuno rica con jugo de naranja o mandarina llena de presión . Frederic , la directora y el personal son muy acogedores , escuchando y con muy buen consejo El acceso es fácil , cerca de la Bab Chbanat, la playa, con un hermoso paseo está cerca
