Comfort Inn West

Property was well maintained. Staff was conscientious. Was a little concerned about the location but it turned out to be very quiet and safe.

First room was good despite the awful smoke smell. Second room was great despite the broken bathroom door.

The front desk staff was welcoming and efficient. Great breakfast. Lovely pool and jacuzzi area.

From the moment we arrived the staff was very friendly and helpful! We stayed for a week long event at the DECC and it was a quick and easy drive. Lots of options for breakfast, a nice hot tub and pool and good sized rooms.

Clean, affordable, friendly staff and a great pool area. First time staying at this hotel and would definitely go back. Chose originally for it's price and reviews and also it's relative proximity to Canal Park(5 minute drive). Pulling up and checking in was very pleased to see how clean the grounds and hotel itself was. It has a very well maintained feel and a great staff. On the map it looks out of the way, especially if you want to sight see Canal Park where we normally stay. A nice surprise that it's a very short drive so you easily get the Canal Park experience without the price of staying right there. It's a five minute drive to Canal Park and downtown Duluth, and an 8-10 minute drive to Miller Hill Mall. This hotel may appear off the beaten path at first glance, but for us this was actually a bonus. It's in a more industrial part of the downtown so there's virtually no foot traffic around the area. Which eliminates any riff Raff and gives a very safe feel. Walking in, the hotel has a very open and inviting feel. Friendly front desk and a nice foyer to relax in. The hallways were spotless and the room itself was clean and what you'd expect for this price range. Nice beds and sheets. The best element for us was the pool/hot tub area. One of nicer ones in this class that we've stayed at. And as a bonus has a sauna, which you don't often see. There's an adequate continental breakfast to get the day started and all day coffee and cookies. OVERALL: Very pleased

Pool area was fun and clean. We loved the hot tub and sauna! Great breakfast in the morning. Comfy beds. All in all, a great experience! We’ll be back

The hotel was very clean throughout. Every staff member we dealt with was cheerful and helpful with recommendations and directions. I highly recommend and would definitely return.

The Comfort Inn West is not a new hotel, but the public areas are very nice, the hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms nicely decorated. It's a great value for the money, not luxury but not spartan. Only complaint: doors start slamming in the morning, they need slow door closers so they close more quietly. tough to sleep in past 6 am!
