This was the first time visiting the hotel Alma Azul in ”playa del coco” El Salvador ,located near the famous right hand surfing point break named los Flores. We were traveling as a large group of surfers visiting from Honolulu Hawaii and were greeted at the airport with two large transport buses to carry all of our gear and surfboards on top. After a 3 Hour Dr. to the south further most eastern side of the country closer to Nicaragua we finally made it to the Alma Azul hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by several of their hotel staff which kindly brought all of our bags to our rooms and shortly there after we were served a wonderful breakfast. Our lead staff supervisor was Héctor And he was a crucial part of managing our stay organizing our food consumption menus our early morning 4 AM rise and transportation to meet our boat captain Luis a.k.a. cheppeh’ Who would take us to a world class right hand point break about a 20 minute boat ride up the scenic west coast of El Salvador. Every day we were offered a full course breakfast, lunch and dinner and dessert 🍨 The hotel is a small Eco boutique property with semi-adequate Wi-Fi only upstairs near the common lounge dining area as far as the rest of the property Wi-Fi is a definite challenge and at times nonexistent especially down in the rooms this is something they could address to improve on in the future. The rooms were adequate for being a Surf accommodation with hot running water for showers and good working A/C however the straw filled pillows with poke out of the pillowcase and were kind of annoying they could use some proper pillows or just customers should bring their own good sleeping pillow . The hotel has a nice swimming pool for plunging and after several hours of surfing there are many hammocks for a good siesta
