Deqin Meili Guanyun Banshan Hotel (Wunongding)

A spotlessly clean, peaceful, beautiful hotel right smack in front of the Meili Snow Mountain range! It has a great viewing platform on the 5th floor. They even provide phone camera stands for spectacular photos, which are a thoughtful touch. Quality room furnishings and toiletries. The complimentary breakfast and afternoon noon were delicious. The street that the hotel is on doesn't offer much food but the hotel itself has a restaurant that serves yummy food at reasonable prices. All in all, a fantastic stay!

Pros: - Excellent service throughout the 5D4N stay, special thanks to Ms. Huang and Mr. Wei for their thoughtful and attentive help - Breakfast was delicious and refillable, though options were quite limited (mainly porridge or noodles), but still very tasty. - daily afternoon tea and bedtime sweet soup are a nice touch - Stunning, unbeatable views - Much quieter compared to the Feilai Temple area Cons: - Bathtub mixer with reversed hot/cold labels - Exhaust fan is only in the shower area instead of toilet area Overall a very enjoyable stay with outstanding service and beautiful views.

Very nice, clean, and high-tech accommodation. The service was top-notch, which included afternoon tea and a Chinese-style breakfast. The view was incredible, but due to hazy weather, we only caught a glimpse of the mountains on our first day. After that, there were snow and haze.

Wow! Words cannot really describe how wonderful this place is. We took the bus from Shangrila and the hotel picked us up at a designated spot for a quick 5 minute drive through some of the most spactacular mountain sunset views. Check in was quick, easy and within minutes we were shown to our room. The room was huge with a floor to ceiling window facing Meili Mountain, a bathtub and projector with huge screen. The sofa was so big I began to think it was a bed. The shower and toilet were spotlessly clean with beautiful large warm towels as well as some quality toiletries and bathrobes. The bedroom was well appointed with very large bed, writing desk and a good oxygen supply. The whole place had underfloor heating which was super comfortable. This little hotel has a rooftop bar/cafe with the most spectacular views. Drinks range from tea and coffee to some cocktails all of which are served with snacks by a very pleasant young man. He was super helpful each time we visited the bar and even made sure the stove was well stocked with logs on the night we wanted to stay late to see the stars. We had local breakfast at the hotel each morning which was of excellent quality and very filling. We also had our evening meals at the hotel and the quality was excellent with great flavour and variety. The staff are all super helpful and were able to recommend some local spots to visit as well as arrange a car to Feilai Temple and a car to take us back to Shangrila for a great price. The whole experience at Deqen Meili GY Banshan Homestay made me wish I had booked more nights. It was the highlight of my trip to Yunnan and I will definitely stay here again next time. I can highly recommend and I miss it so much!

Exceptional location with rooms directly facing Meili Snow Mountain! We booked for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and hopefully catch the morning sunrise (日照金山) and the weather did not disappoint!! We booked a room with a very big balcony so we could spend our morning setting up cameras from our room as opposed to go outside or up to the rooftop, though we didn’t realise it was a two- bedroom. Nonetheless the spaciousness was fantastic, very clean, tidy, with complete amenities and a very cosy TV area where we enjoyed an evening movie. Breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea was great too, with very helpful and friendly staff. A very memorable stay for us! Lastly, they even provided multiple tripods, such a sweet touch!
