Meininger Hotel Köln West

They have a small play area for the kids! The vibe is amazing! The bartender (Marcin) is great! We had a great experience! The area isn’t super walkable, we drove in and looked for stuff to walk to, not a whole lot. But the hotel does have food and stuff at the bar.

Actually, I like the concept of a hotel with a few dorms at hostel prices and a guest kitchen. Very nice bar area to sit and work in, even with self-catering from the very well equipped guest kitchen, the latter of which being the natural meeting point for the hostel style guests in the house. One downside in the dorms is the fact that there are always two non-bunk beds in the room and they tend to be really close together. If you get one of those, you might find yourself sleeping head to head with a stranger. I originally was assigned one of those, but since another bunk in the room was free, the reception was cool with changing my bed. For the rest, the dorms were spotlessly clean, with a very nice ensuite bathroom. Reception staff is friendly and they do what they can but the system seems to be working against them at times, so longer waiting times at check-in were rather the rule when I was there.

We went as a school for an educational trip. The shower had a nice water pressure and our students enjoyed their stay with the nice view of the German skyline. The beds were comfortable and the room is very spacious. Lots of storage available. However, during our stay the room got very hot and sticky even thought we had the air-con on as there were four of us in our room. On our last day we found some hair coming out of the tap in our bathroom. Even though there were some negatives the overall stay was very pleasant.

We enjoyed this trip as it was fun. We came here as a school since we study german. The beds are comfortable and the room is very spacious and lots of storage available. However there was some negatives. During our stay the room got really hot even though it is winter and we had to use a air con. On out last day we found hair coming out of the tap in our bathroom. This caused us yo be worried and a bit disgusted.

- : My room had no table - very bad luck for a business traveler. The receptionist recommended to me, to order a table when booking, i.e. next time. Now you know. Otherwise this is a very nice and very clean place with a caring staff and lively atmosphere.Well stocked breakfast buffet. Nice bar. I will return, when in Cologne..

I had a super nice two-night stay at this seemingly brand-new MEININGER hotel. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Room is spacious, clean, and had all the goodies I needed for a comfy stay. I slept like a baby. Lobby and breaskfast area was totally modern and decked out in cool, bright but chill colors. Plus, it's a great place to kick back with a Kölsch. The area around the hotel is safe and quiet, although it's only about a 10-minute S-Bahn ride from the main train station. But honestly, it's a small trade-off for the peace and quiet you get here. I loved it! In a nutshell, I had a comfy stay at the MEININGER hotel, and I'd totally come back for more

Leider hat uns das Hotel überhaupt nicht gefallen. Der Check-In war unfreundlich und auf die freundliche Nachfrage, ob wir das Zimmer früher bekommen (eines der Kinder hätte dringend duschen müssen), wurden wir unfreundlich auf die Check-In-Zeit hingewiesen. Die Aufbewahrung der Koffer ist nur gegen Entgelt möglich. Steht zwar auf der Homepage, gehört für uns - bei dem Preis - aber eigentlich zum Service. In den Zimmern setzte sich der fehlende Service fort. Becher fürs Zähneputzen müsste man sich bei der Rezeption organisieren. Das Frühstück war eher traurig und hat uns nicht überzeugt. Es hat uns eher an eine Jugendherberge aus „alten Zeiten“ erinnert. Zum Beispiel hat den Kindern die sonst immer erhältliche Nuss-Nougat-Creme gefehlt (muss ja gar keine Marke sein). Außer sehr künstlich aussehendes Rührei gab es keine Eier und die Auswahl am Aufschnitt war begrenzt. Ach ja, an der Bar gab es nur eher eine kleine Auswahl an Getränken und für den Lilet Berry gab es nicht mal Beeren… Alles im allen, ein Hotel ohne Service und ohne Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre.

Prima hotel. Schoon en vriendelijk personeel buiten de garage kan men ook parkeren in de omgeving zonder kosten. Wij hadden familie kamer groot zat. Tot onze verbazing konden we ook streamen naar een ingebouwde chromecast in de tv dus een prettige bijkomstigheid die nergens vernoemd stond

Raeumlichkeiten grosszuegig. Parkmoegkichkeiten gut Alles sauber und gut gewartet. Lage gut. Zimmer sauber, koennten groesser sein. Alles in allem sehr akzeptabel. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Moderne Einrichtung. Fruehstueck vielseitig.
