«Esta vez, nos alojamos en una suite ejecutiva. La habitación estaba muy limpia, el sofá cama del salón medía 1,5 metros de ancho y la cama del dormitorio era grande. Había muchas mesas, mesitas de centro y sofás, y tanto el salón como el dormitorio tenían balcón, lo que la hacía perfecta para un viaje en familia. El hotel tiene una playa privada que, aunque no es muy grande, es mejor que ir a la playa pública. Los restaurantes del hotel son decentes, pero es mejor reservar con antelación. Nos alojamos cuatro noches y la primera fuimos directamente al restaurante italiano Aloro, solo para que nos dijeran que no había mesas disponibles hasta las 9 de la noche. Reservamos con antelación para el segundo día, pero para los tres días siguientes solo había mesas disponibles hasta las 9 de la noche, así que tuvimos que renunciar a ese restaurante y probar los demás. Hicimos el crucero al atardecer del hotel y el paisaje era precioso. Después de comer los aperitivos y sándwiches que ofrecían a bordo, los que tenían poco apetito prácticamente no necesitaban cenar.»

Occasionally the island electric company WAPA will have an issue with their service and you may experience an unexpected power outage; sometimes this is island-wide and sometimes it only affects certain areas but it has nothing to do with the resort or our villa so unfortunately there isn’t anything we can do about it. Should this happen, you’ll also temporarily lose running water (which also means no toilet flushing) but there should be bottles of water under the bathroom sink to pour in the tank if needed. Should you experience a power outage, the restaurants on Point Pleasant have independent generators and so does the lobby so they will be open, but it’s a perfect opportunity to unplug and go to the beach or explore different places on the island. Most locals are used to this but I truly understand this is not the norm for everyone else – hopefully you can roll with it and look around at the beautiful views and appreciate the beauty along with the quirks of island life!

The sunroom has a curtain that can be drawn for privacy for an additional sleeping space. This space has the option of a twin comfy daybed, or this daybed can be extended to make an additional king size bed. There is also a sofa, the kiddos could sleep on in the sunroom. There is plenty of seating, leather sofa with recliners and a rocking recliner and additional living room chairs. I have stocked our kitchen with plenty of everything for your choice of cooking. We have stainless appliances, coffee bar with a keurig single cup and a 12 cup pot for your pleasure. Kitchen island with seating for 4 and plenty of prep space on the other side, so the family can sit around the table and cook at the same time.
The complex has a private pool and tennis courts for your enjoyment. Our Sapphire Gem is just steps from the beach, provided free of charge are chairs and loungers for your use. Located on Sapphire Beach is the Beach Bar, great drinks, burgers, tacos and more, Paradise Pie, the best pizzas, The Beach Buzz, for all your coffee needs, ice cream needs and more. The taxi stand is next door. Red Hook is a half a mile away. If you don't want to leave we have you covered with fun, water activities, food and drinks. The ferry is a mile away, easy to catch and go the St John. The Marina is next to Ferry with a lot of charter excursion options. There is a good grocery store in Red Hook also. Dining area includes a table with comfortable seats or grab a high top stool and sit at the granite counter top. The newly renovated kitchen is fully stocked, has a gas stove and stainless steel appliances including a beverage cooler. Master bed room is very spacious. Offering a king size bed and its own bathroom, with a walk in shower. From there you can enjoy the back patio to relax on and also offers a Weber grill.
Charm of the Island... As the ole "Island Time" phrase says... St Thomas and Sapphire Bay West Condos/Crystal Cove do suffer power outages occasionally. As we hope this doesn't happen while you are visiting, Do know that Sapphire Bay West/ Crystal Cove does not have a generator! While this may be an inconvenience, refunds will not be given for any of the power outages during your stay.

Relax in this updated 1bedroom, 1 bath condominium in the private gated community of Mahogany Run with beautiful panoramic views of the northside hills and Magens Bay. Enjoy updated furnishings and a spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, private balcony and walk-in shower. At 800 s.f., this beautiful condo has a large living and kitchen area, split AC units in each room, complimentary Wi-Fi, and is walking distance to the community pool. Magens Bay is ranked as one the top beaches in the world, and this blue gem is just a short five-minute drive away. We have a fantastic travel tips guide to help recommend restaurants, beaches, excursions and more. Sadly, the 2017 hurricanes, Irma and Maria, destroyed the golf course and on-site restaurant, and they have not yet re-opened.
