I have eaten in many restaurants in Poland and this was by far the worst experience I have had. My first mistake was paying, at the restaurant's insistence, for the meal before receiving the food. I suggested this is not usual but as we had older members of the family with us and didn't want any embarrassment, I paid. The food that did arrived did not fit the descriptions on the menu. Pierogi with a burnt butter and red wine sauce had cranberry jam instead . Two of our party ordered Hungarian pancakes which should have goulash in the middle. One did ; one didn't! Their were no accompaniment with this dish. We had to insist on fresh cutlery for the two course and request again for serviettes. Black tea was in fact not tea but Rooibos. The food arrived over a ten minute period so we all ate at different times. On complaining to the manager [who turned out to be the owner] we were offered two cups of coffee as compensation - that went up to 5 cups. He had no understanding of the poor quality of his establishment and did not wish to apologise. He seemed to think we were making a fuss about nothing. The waiters clearly could see we had genuine reason to be unhappy. Warning: Do not go to this restaurant - there many excellent places to eat in this area that I would suggest you go to.
