Church Villa B & B

What a gem! As a solo traveller I was delighted by the warm welcome and attention to detail of the hosts. there is a wonderful lounge with a terrific log fire and the breakfast offering is impressive and beautifully served. The house is quiet and very comfortable. It is in a beautiful location and so close to the motorway and local attractions. I can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed here whilst visiting the UK from New Zealand, and chose Church Villa B&B because we wanted to experience a B&B in an old and quirky British cottage, and we found a winner! Hilary & Graham are excellent hosts, and their offering was lovely, from the welcoming cuppa to the lovely breakfast the next morning. Bed was excellent and we slept very well; ensuite was petite but provided everything we needed. We were just passing through this time, but will stay for longer next time we're in the UK, as the location was excellent for exploring.

I must say I was impressed with the welcome and morning company. Really nice place to stay. Breakfast was lovely. Coffee so quiet, lovely fire to, I stay in a lot of hotels and have done for over 15 years, so I changed over to a B&B for a change. It was ideal they were very accommodating if I needed anything rub the lamp and it was done. Lovely people lovely place to get your head down. The fire 🔥 perfect. If they had a mini log burner in the conservatory I would happily bring my wife with a bottle or two and spend the weekend if it was snowing even better and trust me the owners would try to accommodate. What would finish this off is a log burning wood barrel hot tub in the garden. Romantic weekend away for couples. Has so much to offer the garden is incredible. Fell in love with the property. But mind your head these properties do have some features from the past. But that’s what makes them special. Something human about this place, made me feel normal.

A lovely and quaint bed and breakfast run by an extremely welcoming couple. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. In a historic house, part of which is 400 years old with many historic features. Downstairs lounge with log fire for guests to enjoy. Plenty of parking and good nearby walks at the Five Pits trail.

Lovely old property and a very warm welcome, in a lovely part of the world. I was visited Frasers Group Head Office over in Shirebrook but knew someone in Chesterfield and this was a great location for both. The welcome was super friendly with tea and a chat on arrival. Very well maintained property and super hospitality. Thanks.

This is an excellent B&B. Hilary and Graham went out of their way to provide excellent hospitality and did everything to make our stay as comfortable and effortless as possible. All of the meals were excellent, especially the full English breakfast. The rooms are comfortable for an old building. The lounge area was ideally suited for our 24 hour retreat. Easy access from the M1 and nice walks nearby.
