In my recent trip to Changchun, I chose the Changbaishan Hotel for my stay based on the location, amenities, and reviews. I was very glad for my choice. The hotel was newly renovated and all the hardware is excellent to the highest standards and so thoughtful to every detail. Their service is even more impressive. My first encounter was Mr. Liang Wei at the front desk. He was very friendly and helpful. He sent me the greetings and offered useful information several times during my stay. When I requested an extended stay after the work hours, he processed it in a timely manner and gave me a deal. I am very grateful to him and the hotel. I will return to this place in my future trips to Changchun. I highly recommend this hotel!

FFootloose YBThe hotel is only a 3-minute walk from Changchun Railway Station. It is very convenient if arriving at that station. The locality has plenty of convenience shops and some restaurants (local food).
Check in was efficient, though, like virtually all hotels outside Beijing and Shanghai, only Chinese is spoken. Staff have to use a translation app to handle English. Not sure what they do if some other language.
The room was ready and clean on arrival at 2pm. It was reasonably spacious. It did not have a desk, but a 1-metre diameter round table, which could serve as a desk. However, because it was not placed against a wall, there were no power points at the table. There were sufficient power points around the room, however, just not at the table. Lighting was good and temperature control was precise. Unfortunately there was no mini fridge. The bed was a bit too firm for me. There was a proper luggage rack, which was good.
The bathroom was reasonably spacious too. All fixtures looked very new. Hot water came through quickly. Water pressure was good, but drainage in the shower might need some maintenance.
Almost all food at breakfast were Chinese items. Like many hotels outside of Beijing and Shanghai they don't have much more than sliced bread, butter, jam and yogurt, in terms of western items. Even teaspoons, forks and knives were unavailable. Imagine spreading butter on your sliced bread with chopsticks. The Chinese food dishes, on the other hand, changed daily. Fruit was limited to just one kind (melon) that didn't change daily. The simple fact that nearly 100% of guests are domestic tourists, not foreign tourists, explains the above.
Management needs to train their dining room staff to speak softly. It was striking how often staff shouted across the room to other staff and even customers,, creating a noisy atmosphere.

KKerstin KaehlerThis was our second stay in three days - both times because of the nearness to Changchun Railway Station - and again we enjoyed the excellent service (even if your phone runs out of battery, there’s a two day weather forecast on your desk together with water and snacks, s. photo), classic Chinese hard mattresses and pillows (good for our backs) and the history exhibits that remind guests of the fact this hotel was first opened in 1909 in this very building.
This time, we did have time for their extensive breakfast buffet and it is indeed extensive: salad, various types of eggs, oats, fruit, cakes, Chinese dumplings, Chinese porridge (the local “hei mi” black rice is lovely), fried noodles, rice, steamed veggies and buns, toast, jam, various Chinese hot dishes, freshly made noodles, ….you get the idea. The only regret we had: they have a coffee machine - for instant coffee…. Lots of lovely teas, but only instant coffee, alas.
You can’t beat their price, either: RMB 304 for a twin bedroom including two breakfasts and two vouchers for afternoon tea.

MM504063****Como siempre, gracias a las dos hermanas de la recepción, Renia y Wang Wang, estaban rodeadas por la primera vez que estuvo aquí, me ayudé a encontrarlo con mucha paciencia. La actitud del servicio es excelente, es que ahora el personal del parque es relativamente complejo. Tiene una para comprobar la temperatura de la habitación, pulse el portal, Quizá no me oí hablar, la tarjeta de entrada es directa, el servicio general es excelente, el desayuno no es muy agradable, el servicio de comida china tiene que ser fortalecido

FFrench FamilyWe stayed here a few nights on our way back from a ski trip in Songhua Lake Resort. The hotel is nice and clean, located just next to a metro station. The playground in the breakfast area was very handy with young kids.

UUsuario invitadoThis was my first time stay at Shangri-La Changchun and I was not disappointed. I felt welcomed when checked in. Ella at the front desk is professional and friendly. She introduced about the room facility to us, made the check-in process smooth and gave us free upgrade (Thanks, Ella!). The room we stayed was clean with beautiful view. The facility was nice. The breakfast was delicious and there were so many varieties of great food to choose. The cleaning lady was friendly and had her job well done. The staff also helped us call taxi. The fitness club and pool are great. We had dinner on the 2nd floor. The food was wonderful and the waiter was very friendly. The location of the hotel is central and perfect as a base in the city. We had an early check-out and need to rush to the airport. The gentleman at the front desk made the checkout extremely brief and wasted no time in getting us a taxi. All in all, we had a very pleasant and lovely stay at Shangri-la. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay again when visiting Changchun.

CCris R.I arrived so early in this hotel that the boss was still asleep. It was easy to locate this hotel if you book a Didi ride from Changchun Railway Station.
Because he was still asleep and didn't hear me entering the lobby, I had to contact Trip and a customer service representative was quick to help me out. Long story short, I was able to leave my luggage and use the bathroom of one of the rooms before I headed out for my one-day Changchun adventure. I visited the former site of the Changchun Film Studio and the Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo.
I had a truly interesting day. I usually take the subway wherever I go but for Changchun, since I only had a day, I chose to take Didi. It was affordable and convenient and the hotel was within easy reach from the spots I enjoyed.
This property is located in an area where there are local eateries and shops so no need to worry about food and drinks. I found a local eatery next to it that served affordable yet delicious dishes and I can easily rank it as one of my favorite meals in northeastern China.
Book this hostel when you're in Changchun. I paid RMB 50 for this room for a one-night stay.
