Villa d'Este

I have been visiting Villa D' Este since 2018 but never got a chance to write a review until now. Better late than never! The best of the best place to be in Lake Como. I recently celebrated my milestone birthday there with my husband and 10 if my close friends. It was a dreamy birthday due to the staff's outstanding service and accommodations. My annual summer destination. Veranda's food and drinks are yummy and the view is gorgeous! ❤️❤️

Probably the most elegant and welcoming hotel anywhere. Immaculate and utterly beautiful yet low key super service. Any time of the year. A true bucket list destination. The position is extraordinary right in the water with swimming pools both heated and with lake water. Magical!!!

What a letdown. I first stayed at Villa d'Este in 1999 and had an amazing trip. The second time I went, the staff were rude and inattentive, the rooms and bathrooms were tired and worn out. The night before our checkout, I asked what time I needed to be out. They said "Not to worry. Noon was fine." We went to breakfast, came back to the room at 10:30AM and our room had been packed and cleared out. I went to the front desk to complain. They said I could go back to my room. I did and they brought back my luggage. I went to get a few things and some electronics and the Hermés scarves we bought in Milan were gone. I sent emails up the food chain all the way to the CEO who said "Our staff would never steal. We hope you'll give us another chance." F Off. We'll stay at the Mandarin Oriental next time.

The best place on the lake! Great decoration, service and hospitality. All hotel staff is very kind but especially Vincenzo at the entrance gate was very welcoming and helpful whenever we entered the Villa.

My husband and I stayed at the Villa D'este for 3 nights for our honeymoon in September 2023, the setting is beautiful and the hotel has amazing gardens, which was the very reason we chose to stay at the Villa D'este. After checking in I asked the reception if it would be okay to take a picture in my wedding dress in the gardens, They went to check and came back to us with the answer, no, not in a wedding dress! 1, it could disturb the other guests! 2, not for commercial reasons, of which I said I would be happy to sign to say, it certainly wouldn't be used for commercial purposes. 3, this was only for people who got married at the hotel. I feel really sad that our stay of 3 nights wasn't good enough. After watching a couple of other incidents with other guests, which all turned out the same way with sometimes quite abrupt dealings by the hotel staff and no. I feel there is something fundamentally missing at the hotel, the staff very rarely smile if at all and are not happy to help make your stay special. The Villa D'este is renowned for being a prestigious hotel, and a luxury for many guests, therefore I really think they should look at how those guests are being treated, it is not just about money and tips, it should be about making guests feel truly welcome and valued.

We stayed in Villa Garrovo as a family for a wedding. All aspects of the stay were excellent . The villa had everything you could need, room service and house keeping were excellent. The facilities at the main hotel were open to us to use at anytime. Excellent in every way. All staff were friendly , helpful and attentive. Quality of food was excellent. Bear in mind the location and level of the hotel tho, they do know how to charge.

Truly fantastic four day break. Every aspect of Villa D'Este was superb. Staff were excellent and we enjoyed wonderful food & wine at the Veranda Restaurant, Grill and Canova Terrace.We enjoyed the glorious October weather by sitting on the sun deck , enjoying the view and wine. Very impressed and will return. The service in this hotel was incredible.
