My family and I booked this villa for two weeks via Solmar Villas. I was slightly apprehensive as there wasn’t a recent review at time of booking. The villa is in Benissa near Moreira. On arrival the villa was clean, a nice size of 3 beds, a large lounge and kitchen and a main bathroom and en-suite in one bedroom. The main bedroom has air con the rest don’t and the lounge has air con although the air con flap doesn’t open so you have to wedge it open with something which is a bit of a pain. The villa has a nice pool however the sun is only around the pool until about 4pm daily and then in shade. Being truthful the whole outside of the villa is very dreary with no greenery and there were ****s growing through the patio which were tall near the pool and just needs some attention to make it more appealing. In advance of our visit I emailed Solmar Villas to ask for another umbrella round the pool, they said no. So you have 6 basic sunbeds and one umbrella. Whilst on holiday I emailed the rep to ask if she could tell us where the pool lights are as the children wanted to go for an evening swim and received a short passive aggressive message from Emma the rep to say lights in the pool weren’t advertised as ‘ Included ‘ and we can’t use due to heat they generate … no idea what she meant and I would like to point out it also wasn’t advertised by Solmar Villas that the lights weren’t included. When you pay £4K for rental of a villa for two weeks you sort of expect use of the pool in full. This wasn’t the case. The villa has a downstairs which is locked up the whole time. Assume owners use as storage. The outside awning was mouldy, ripped and old and pointless as didn’t offer shade. See photo of reality and what was on website of Solmar villas. There was a funny smell from the outset in the main bedroom as the villa has a septic tank and the smell was constant although worse when you had used the shower. The kitchen is equipped however there is no plastic cups for around the pool, a laundry basket for wet washing and the pegs left were so old they kept snapping and we had only ten to start with. The sofa in the front room is old would benefit from a new one. There is a big supermarket two mins drive called Pepe Le Sal this is a great supermarket with lots of lovely variety and we used often. The villa has a nice view towards the sea albeit a distant view and the location is good however I would say a car is a must. Calpe beach see photo 5 is the best beach to go to all sand no rocks in the sea and is 15 mins drive. Sunbeds are €6 a day to hire and umbrellas the same - cash only. Moirera beach is about 6/7 min drive , it does have rocks in as you enter the sea which can get v annoying. €7 a day for sunbed or umbrella. Baladrar beach is 5 mins walk see photo 8 however I would say a max of two hours there is enough as all rocky and pebble beach and no hire of sunbeds. They do have a lovely beach bar near there which is great from drinks and
