Matisse Bucharest Old Town

Excellent location and large room for a family. All staff very friendly and there is a small supermarket next door and several coffee shops within a 2 minute walk. Taxis cannot enter old town itself but as the hotel is right on the edge, you can be dropped at the door

Very clean, bright and spacious hotel/flat. If you don't want to be in a narrow, cramped hotel room; this room can be the remedy with its comfy beds. You can absolutely choose this hotel if you want to be close to old town. Critical point; if you want to be in a silent and peaceful hotel room, none of the old town hotels are in your list. Loud music at 03:00 am- 04:00 am and even 05:00 am in the morning? Our room was looking at the inner side of the building, we could barely hear the music at night, so that was not a problem. This hotel can be considered one of the best in the area. The other point is about TV. There are 2 TVs in the room, which is nice. But TV in the bedroom did not work during our stay, so lying in bed and watching TV is a bit disappointment. The personnel are really helpful though, the cable guy would come to repair the next day, unfortunately our stay finishes. Another point; I think the best cafe in town is located on the ground floor of this hotel, GYST. It is not a subject of this critic but it is nice to drink your morning coffee and have your breakfast with no effort.

We recently spent 4 nights in Matisse Bucharest Old Town apartments and were positively amazed by the location, quality and reasonable price of the apartments. You are 5-10 minutes walk from all the major Old Town sights and night life and the apartments are very clean and spacious. We would strongly recommend these apartments to other tourists.

A great place to stay! Very spacious and had an amazing time. The accommodation is close by to everything and I would definitely stay again. The rooms are clean and all the apartments are a good size. It’s very easy to get to and I would recommend going to Therme before going to the airport.

Fantastic apartment and well positioned to explore the old town and beyond thanks to the nearby metro station. Friendly and helpful staff and good communication. The area around can be a little noisy on a Saturday night but that’s to be expected given how close to the action it is. I believe there are rooms overlooking the courtyard which are quieter but it wasn’t a major issue for us. Would definitely stay again.

Pros: The property is nice and well located. The noise from the bars near is tolerable, especially with the fan turned on. Cons: Cleaning service - we were gone for a few days and nobody cleaned the room. We had to ask - minimal cleaning seems to be done otherwise like picking up the trash and supplies. Comfort - the bed in the bedroom is good but the couch in the living room is horrific... Facilities - water did not run properly and when it came it ran rusty for a bit Communication - No communication was sent out when the water was not running anymore Noise - Tolerable but may be an issue

The room was spacious, practical and well furnished. However, it was too noisy. It was like being in a party all night. Many bars in the road, many drunk people screaming till morning. Impossible to sleep without earplugs, while curtains did not provide darkness. The room was not quite clean, especially in the bathroom. In my opinion, too overrated and too expensive considering the quality of sleep and generally the quiet during the night.
