La Chartreuse - Bordeaux

This property offers the perfect combination of apartment living(no kitchen) and boutique hotel. Units are located in tastefully renovated French mansion with modern finish. Bedding is high end and comfortable. Breakfast is complimentary and served on the patio. The owner is very pleasant and hospitable. Would highly recommend.

An excellent quiet and comfortable stay. The breakfast service and selection was outstanding. The staff member on duty also went out of his way to provide an early breakfast on the day of departure and to arrange a taxi to the station, for which I am most grateful. Highly recommended!

Cannot recommend this B&B enough! Pierre is a delightful host. Our apartment was spotlessly clean, unbelievably so and the decor was beautiful. It was also extremely quiet. We had our own little outdoor area too. Breakfast was a delicious selection of croissants, bread, fresh fruit, ham and cheese. Pierre also provided gluten free bread for us. The tram is a 5 minute walk away or you could walk the 20 minutes into the centre of Bordeaux.

We stayed in la Chartreuse for 2 nights in the chambre "Marie Brizard". We met Pierre and Pascal who are just the best hosts very welcoming and helpful for anything we asked of them. Located on the first floor of the building. This spacious room was very clean and perfect for our stay and has its own private terrace. The house is set back from the road which ensures a perfectly quiet environment. There is also a beautiful terrace garden. The breakfast is lovely with the best croissants I have ever had but also including great bread, fruit, meats and cheese, yogurts and excellent coffee. We chose this one based on reviews and location and they are not wrong. Very easy to walk into the centre of the city or jump on the tram which is just a couple of minutes walk away. If we were to return to Bordeaux this is the place for us. One thing to note (and nothing to do with the hotel) if you wish to go to the local swimming pool located around the corner you will need the correct swimwear and swim cap to enter something British tourists forget but they have a vending machine so you can buy no problem!

Stayed in la Chartreuse last wk for 3nights (mid july)we were met by Pierre and all we can say was what a gentleman, he couldn't do enough for us ,we were stuck in mid of the aerlingus strike and were worried about getting their ,Pierre was so understanding which took the worry off run up to flight but thankfully all flights went on time ,the accommodation was stunning ,if anyone watches escape to la château then this is worth visiting, it's a short walk from bordeaux city center ,when u walk though those gates your in for a pleasant surprise, breakfast was fabulous and generous, if there are ratings I would give it 10 out of 10 and I'm fussy 😎

We stayed for 5 nights in the chambre "Marie Brizard", located on the first floor of the beautifully restored building. This spacious room has been decorated with exquisite taste, and has its own private terrace. The house is set back from the road, which ensures a perfectly quiet environment. Breakfast was generous and we felt that the owners, Pierre and Pascale, are fully committed to providing the best possible experience for their guests. No detail has been overlooked. In addition, "La Chartreuse" is located within comfortable walking distance of the centre of Bordeaux.

We had an enjoyable three days at La Chartreuse. It is spotlessly clean, and good choice of decor ,quiet, good breakfast and Pierre is a lovely host. Only small criticism, it would be nice to have two chairs in a double room. But this is often the case in hotels. If we need to stay in Bordeaux again then this is the choice for us. Gill & Ron.

Kleine und sehr familiäre Einheit (nur 4 Zimmer), sehr ruhig gelegen (nachts mit offenem Fenster schlafen ist kein Problem) wir hatten ein Zimmer im Obergeschoss mit einer privaten Terrasse - MEGA! Pierre ist ein unglaublich freundlicher und hilfreicher Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist ein Kleinod in einer Großstadt, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden das nächste Mal wieder dort absteigen.
