Le Clos Saint-Gilles

Amazing! Truly amazing! This place is like a vacation within a vacation. It is very serene, and lovely. If I was writing a book, it is the type of place you'd go to escape. The family really makes an effort to make it comfortable. The key thing here is the property. It's in a rural France farm estate, that is about as old as America itself. The garden is so pleasant to sit in. Every morning I looked forward to have coffee, smoke in the garden, and enjoy the sounds of nature, the fresh scented air, and the views. I also looked forward to observing the rooster, and hens. The rooster is a character! The farm has an abundance of fresh berries, honey, and cherries. In the breakfast they serve you get treated to the fresh product. They don't seem to mind if you pluck a cherry from the tree either. The breakfast is always very fresh, and the house made jellies and honey are phenomenal. I didn't even mention, the view of Mont St Michel! That is stunning in itself. Our room had a front row seat to viewing of the magnificent structure! The kitchen is open, and you can grab a bottle of wine or soft drinks on the honor system. Very cool benefit! The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. The bathroom was also large, especially by Euro standards. The couple that runs the place is very fun, engaging, interesting, and accommodating. As an American, normally French people are less than kind. This family is probably the nicest family available in the entire country! If I lived closer I'd probably spend a few long weekends a year at this place. If you go to Mont St Michel, you'd really make a big mistake to stay at one of the hotels, when this gem is available. I am sure I will be back, not for Mont St Michel, but to experience this vacation within a vacation once again. PS, they have a Yurt! Yes a Yurt you can stay in!!!

We had a wonderful stay last fall. The property was incredibly clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The rural location was perfect - quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by a lovely yard and garden. A beautiful property with wonderful hospitality!

Amazing stay. The cleanest room I’ve ever seen. The owner is super friendly and breakfast was delicious, with local products. Nova the dog is suuuuper cute. Our room had views to mont st michel which made our stay incredible. It is super close to mont st michel. I recommend going to see the meanders at sunset ag around 10pm when they let out the sheep and it’s magical

We had the most amazing time during our visit. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view was absolutely beautiful. Our host told us about the walk to Mont Saint-Michel through the sheep fields, and we decided to spend a day exploring the route. It was such a fun and memorable experience walking through the fields and taking in the scenery. The breakfast was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the homemade jellies, honey, yogurt, fresh eggs, and the delicious apple and chocolate cakes. Everything was fresh, homemade, and thoughtfully prepared. We truly could not have asked for a better stay. Thank you for your hospitality and for making our visit so special. We hope to return someday!

Absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend!!! Our host was amazing! The garden is beautiful. The stay included a delicious breakfast of homemade breads, jellies, fruit and scrambled eggs!

We had the most wonderful stay at Le Clos Saint-Gilles and cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed like old friends rather than guests. Tatiana and Thibault are some of the kindest, warmest, and most generous hosts we’ve ever encountered. Our booking was originally made much earlier, but due to a sudden family emergency, we had to postpone our trip. Tatiana was incredibly understanding and kindly allowed us to reschedule our stay at any time until the end of 2025—no questions asked. That level of empathy and flexibility meant the world to us. Before and during our stay, both Tatiana and Thibault were eager to share their personal recommendations—the kind of insider tips that only locals know. From charming local restaurants to scenic spots that aren’t packed with tourists, and even advice on how best to explore Mont Saint Michel—they made sure we experienced the region at its very best. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Set amidst a lush, well-tended garden, it’s a peaceful oasis. As we turned into the driveway, we were greeted by a magical view of Mont Saint Michel in the distance—it truly felt like something out of a fairytale. Our room was cozy, tasteful, and impeccably clean, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. And breakfast? Simply divine. Nearly everything was homemade—from the jams, apple juice and cakes to the fresh bread— were lovingly prepared. Even the eggs were from their chickens. It was the perfect start to each day. Clos Saint Gilles is more than just a place to stay… it’s a heartfelt experience filled with beauty, comfort, and genuine human connection. What an absolute gem! Beautiful accommodation and wonderful hosts Fantastic breakfast with home grown ingredients - even have their own honey and eggs Definitely a 10/10 !!

This place is awesome. The location right by MSM, the huge garden in back, the homemade breakfast, the spacious and comfortable rooms. At night we walked out into the farm fields and enjoyed a sunset by MSM. And the hosts were a delight to talk to, and they made us a reservation at the wonderful restaurant nearby, Le Sillon de Bretagne.

Highly recommended for a stay near Le Mont Saint Michel! Tatiana and Thibaut have created a beautiful hotel out of a 17th century farmhouse with views of le Mont. Rooms are large and beautifully appointed, with large modern bathrooms. The breakfast was delicious in a beautiful room. Best of all, the hosts are a delight and very helpful with any needs during your stay, dinner reservations, local advice, etc. If you're coming to visit le Mont, you should definitely consider staying here
