The apartment itself was basically fine. Good central location, the beds are comfortable, and the electronic shutters help keep out the noise from the road, so no complaints there. The staff in the office round the corner where you collect the key were lovely. However, the all-pervading pong from the bathroom as soon as we opened the door was dreadful. It seemed to come mainly from the shower and the toilet. We put up with it the first night, but messaged the management via *********** the next morning and they responded quickly and said they’d send the cleaning team in. I guess they did? But there was absolutely no difference to the rank, all-pervading pong of smelly drains later that day. By the third day, we'd had enough as we could now smell the drains throughout the apartment and so we phoned the emergency help number by the door and asked to be moved. To be fair, the management team agreed immediately, and we then had to pack up and move about 15 minutes' walk away. The second apartment was very similar - though it had two bathrooms instead of one. The bathroom off the main bedroom was fine - no smell! However, we had to shut the door on the small bathroom which would have been used by our daughter as it also reeked of blocked drains. It is because of this that I have had to rate the property overall as poor. Surely the problem would have been instantly obvious to anyone renting/cleaning the apartment in advance of our stay - and yet it was still rented out to us.
