Villa Kubu Seminyak

We stayed in Villa 9. Definitely not a 5-star Villa. The pool and gardens are beautiful but the Villa looks old and tired. No TV in the lounge room, only a very small, old TV available in the bedroom and the TV reception is terrible. The food is very average.

We stayed in villa 2. It was much bigger than we expected. While the villa could do with a bit of TLC, we found it very comfortable with an old Bali charm.This was a Luxury Escapes deal and everything went like clockwork. The location is very good with a small walk to the main shopping area and the biggest shop, Bintang, that I have ever seen. There is a small cafe on location where you can organize meals to be brought to your villa, we enjoyed what we had. the staff were exceptional, especially the cafe staff and reception. we had a wonderful restful stay and look forward to returning.

We stayed in villa 1, a little old style villa. It was very cute. The pool and gardens were beautiful. The little bonus was our koi pond and fish. There was fish food left in the villa to feed them. Our villa had outdoor bathrooms, which had seen better times, but as they are outdoors they are exposed to the elements which is understandable. Overall we had a lovely stay at Villa Kubu

The whole complex is very run down. Definitely not 5 star - possibly a 3 star? It is obvious that no maintenance has been done since Covid. Mouldy curtains, broken decking and tiles around the pool and poor quality towels and linen. To be fair the villa was actually quite clean but the stench in the wardrobe and kitchen cupboards was overwhelming. Has the potential of being great but in dire need of an upgrade.

The staff were all amazing, they could not do enough for us, we had a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool, it was the most beautiful tranquil villa, the bed was so comfortable, we had a bath and rainfall shower in our room, we had breakfast in our villa, which all tasted lovely, would highly recommend villa Kubu, we had a fantastic stay, Thankyou

Overall not up to scratch for prices they are trying to charge, seriously $3-400 AUD/night for a one bedroom villa. I managed to get a resonably good price on ********** at approx $150/night (booked back in March 2023 to stay in Nov 2023) so can't complain too much for that price, clearly a one off price. However I have stayed there many times over the last 20 years and was married in villa 7 in 2010. Clearly different owners/management as maintenance has slipped, no villa doorbells or don't work, villa decking around pools need replaceing. Housekeeping/villa garden cleaning only every other day, no phone in villas, only what's app communication possible although front desk did respond relatively quickly. Friends were staying in villa 9? next door and pool has broken step/tiles going into the pool, lounge had no tv, it was in bedroom and very small. Our villa no:4 had a tv that whilst flatscreen was clearly old, small and not a smart tv so no netflix etc also the reception on tv was average to say the least. The size of villa gardens and pools is good and is trafitionally balinese in feeling but feeling old and tired. Staff were pleasant, no complaints there. Villa Kubu tried to charge us to refill water dispenser in outdoor kitchen which we found offensive, imagine if you had paid $350-400 AUD/night!!!!! ridisculous. Could not get a second key to villa while we were there so annoying to go out while wife stayed in villa/asleep. On site spa was not operating and cafe only did breakfast and lunch until 430pm but reasonably priced. Won't stay again sadly as we had great memories and experiences there previously. Bali villa accomodation seems to have become ridiculously expensive now.
