We booked a standard sea view room and following the travel agents advice, we didn’t book the ‘my favourites club’ room and package as she said there did not seem to be much extra benefit. However, upon arriving at the hotel, the hotel were very kind to upgrade us due to it being our honeymoon to the ‘my favourites club’ room and package. Addressing the reviews which complain about reception service- we got a fantastic service from staff who were dealing with many arrivals and also other queries from people already there, they couldn’t have done any more and were excellent. Our room had a bottle of wine in it and a card to congratulate us on our wedding which was a thoughtful and kind gesture. There is DEFINITELY a huge difference in experience at the hotel and it varies guest to guest (but be aware some people just love to moan also some of these reviews are completely inaccurate) the hotel CLEARLY advertises the my favourites club and charges but until you are there, you really don’t appreciate the difference. I would advise to book the ‘my favourites club’ room and package. You get access to the two infinity pools at the back of the hotel facing the sea, loads of sun beds and space and private bar. Off limits to other guests. We would not have enjoyed our holiday half as much and are truly grateful for the upgrade. Our room was clean, tidy, beautiful balcony with sea view, cleaned every day by our lovely housekeeper Marva (room 934). We had air conditioning for the full stay and never had any issues with anything in the room. You also get access to the al a carte restaurant for your whole stay which provided a nice luxury choice. However, during our stay the air conditioning broke in 3 of the large standard room blocks. There were a lot of angry and disgruntled guests due to a lack of communication. I appreciate the hotel probably wanted to avoid drawing attention to the issues, but with so many people affected, it would have been advisable to inform all guests of the issues, the fact they were doing everything they could to resolve them (which they absolutely were) and more offers of fans, water and maybe an area to go to to cool down. I also think a few freebies would have gone a long way- maybe an offer for a few free luxury cocktails or an extra night in the al a carte. We were not directly affected but reception was constantly busy with lots of angry guests and there seem to be a few very unfair reviews posted and I feel this would have helped avoid such dissatisfaction. The food and drink was excellent for an all inclusive. Breakfast was a big buffet with loads of choice. Lunch was a big buffet with different things added and changed every day, you also had the option of sandwiches at all the bars and fresh fruit and cake or our personal favourite was the pool bar lunch option which offered a restaurant style service each day with its own menu.
