Hoteles cerca del Paço de Giela, Arcos de Valdevez

Hemos estado el fin de semana del 24 al 25 de Septiembre, como celebración de aniversario, general el Hotel muy bien, estuvimos en régimen de media pensión, y tanto la cena como el desayuno muy bien. Pero el spa, bueno eso otro nivel, malo no lo siguiente,se han venido arriba cuando ofrecen spa. Solo hay una piscina, normal, sin chorros ni nada pequeña, un jacuzzi pequeño, que dos personas voluminosas lo ocupan, y obvio siempre ocupado, y una sauna turca para tres personas, que no es la de la foto. Luego hay un letrero que dice bien claro, niños menores de 13, que ya es un margen bastante olgado, no; pues cuando llegamos había uno de 5/6, llegó un bebé de 1 año si lo tenía, con pañal y entraban tres niños más, sobre 2,4,7 años, más o menos. Como ya no había suficientes adultos, en un espacio pequeño, pues niños en edades no permitidas, y nadie vigila. Luego lo de los masajes una chica sola todo el día,en fin. Albornoz pedimos a las tres de la tarde y nos dieron el último, ya q según el de recepción no tenían para toda la gente que había alojada. O sea en este aspecto muy muy mal, no se puede vender lo q que no ofreces.

We were in awe of this home. So much to explore and so much history! Loved the thick granite walls and original wooden doors/shutters with hardware, antiques and displays everywhere, beautiful view, and even a pool. It is situated in a quaint little area by a church and you can easily walk down to the river. The area around Ponte da Barca is absolutely beautiful and fun to explore. The hosts are very friendly and offered a lovely breakfast.

We picked this location as we were going to a music festival nearby and taking odd days to explore the area…in between we were hoping to chill by the pool. How disappointed were. The plastic tree that greets you in the reception, is a pretty good representation of what you are going to get…Fake, this place is soulless and fake, but what makes it worse, it’s “tired fake”. From the dirty grubby carpets and chairs, black scuff marks on the once clean white walls and the cheap Italian style melamine furniture now chipped exposing its self for what it really is .. cheap coated chipboard. The first night we booked a table for dinner, on our way out we thought we’d have a drink in the bar first. The bar was empty of customers and bar staff so we made our way to the restaurant. The food was so bad it was comical. The tenderloin I ordered was so tough it should have been served with a chainsaw on the side. Breakfast the next morning was the same odd, awkward experience. But one thing we did realise they were actually other people staying at the hotel, not couples as you’d expect in a spa hotel but large families with lots of kids. We made our way out for the day. On our return we thought we we have a few hours buy the pool, .not possible, the pool was full of screaming children. So next option, sit on the balcony with a drink.. the balcony walls had black mold on them and the wooden deck was almost rotten and didn’t feel safe. Anyway below you had more screaming kids playing ball games. The 2nd morning we woke up and noticed that the 2 coffee pods that we had on the first morning hadn’t been replaced, I asked at reception on the way out and was told I need to pay an extra 1€ per pod after the first night.? Also the shower gel and shampoo were not replenished after the 3rd day I had to go to reception again and ask for them. I could go on… basically this place made us miserable, so miserable we changed our flight home at extra cost and checked out 2 days earlier than we were booked in for, losing the money for those last 2 nights. I would not recommend staying here.

We stayed twice in the last month. Why? Because it is in an ideal location for exploring the two national parks but mainly because it is managed superbly. The condition and maintenance of the building and furnishings is exemplary. The staff are well trained, well dressed courteous, friendly and professional. The restaurant, which we used 4 times is very affordable and the quality, quantity and choices are excellent. Breakfast was just as good with plenty of choice including hot items. Cleanliness in the rooms and public areas were also excellent. Free parking, excellent wifi and some English channels on the TV which is a rarity.I review, having owned my own hotel and having being in the hotel trade much of my life. This hotel is comparable if not better than the Pousadas and Paradores of the Iberian peninsular and should be rated 5 star.

Simplesmente horrível. Foi mesmo uma grande deceção. Não recomendo!!! O nosso quarto, que era minúsculo, ficava situado na cave, o que significa que a janela ficava abaixo da rua, e por isso não era possível abrir as portadas e muito menos a janela, também não interessava, pois a vista eram os pneus de uma carro; o acesso ao quarto é por fora do edifício, ou seja, para fazer o check-in foi preciso descer 34 degraus com o trolley e com o saco de viagem, e depois foi preciso subir os 34 degraus e sair do edifício para chegar ao quarto, mas a funcionária que nos acompanhou, também não perguntou se era preciso ajuda...... e se estiver a chover não há hipótese de chegar à zona de refeições e à receção sem apanhar chuva. No quarto também não se apanhava Wi-fi. Quanto à piscina, é preciso ir de carro ou fazer uma caminhada de cerca de 20min, pois fica a 950m., aliás, a piscina fica no ”Bar da Piscina”. Era para ficarmos duas noites e apenas ficamos uma, e, porque, como chegamos por volta das 19.30h já não conseguimos reservar noutro lado para ficar nessa noite....

Relación calidad precio muy bueno. Recomiendo esta albergue.

Hemos estado tres días en octubre, el hotel está limpio y es un sitio tranquilo para mi gusto pero, las cenas muy poco buffet para escoger, la verdad que tampoco es caro sobre 22 euros, para tomar un café hay que tomarlo con calma., me imagino que en temporada alta estará mejor atendido, tampoco nos aclarábamos bien porque aunque dice que hablan en español, con nosotros desde luego que no. Una chocolatina de bienvenida y una botellita de agua en la habitación todos los días. Los precios del bar y bebida de habitación están bastante baratos para un hotel de cuatro estrellas, a L contrario que la comida.
