Rakgojae, which opened in Hahoe Village in Andong after Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul, is, as its name suggests,'a place where you can enjoy the old things with a clear and comfortable mind.' On July 31, 2010, Hahoe Village was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its value was recognized worldwide. Hahoe Village, whose entire village has been designated as Important Folklore Materials No. 122, has been preserved as a living place from 600 years ago to the present, and is a place that serves as a tourist destination as nature itself. Lakgojae, located in front of the naru ruins of Hahoe Village, consists of four thatched houses, including the main building, the annex, the Sarangchae, and the doorganchae. Each room has a private bathroom, so you can enjoy the comfort you couldn't feel in traditional hanok. In addition, the loess jjimjilbang in the doorway is becoming a healthy rest area for visitors. In the evening, from the starlight flowing through the stone walls, the moonlight singing with Hahoe Village, and the gentle thatched roof curves that allow you to feel the beauty of Korea, Rakgojae presents beautiful memories. The journey in Rakgojae is more comfortable because you can enjoy true rest as if time has stopped as it is from the complicated daily life. When you cross the river on a ferry by an experienced sailor, you will see the ‘Buyongdae’ standing in front of Rakgojae. When you reach the summit, you can see the stalks of the Nakdong River and white sandy beaches that flow through Hahoe Village, and you can see the entire Hahoe Village, which sits in a mysterious shape with hundreds of years of history. Also, passing through the pine forest of Natural Monument No. 473, Mansongjeong, located next to Rockgojae, will refresh your mind.Mostrar más

We spent a delightful night at Rakkojae, an enchanting retreat that seamlessly blends traditional Korean architecture with modern luxury. Nestled within a setting that mirrors a traditional Korean village, the original Korean houses exuded beauty, evoking a sense of timeless charm. Although our accommodation wasn't within the historic houses of Hahoe Village itself, we were fortunate to experience the newly inaugurated second hotel, a haven of opulence that had opened just days before our arrival. As the second set of guests, we were warmly welcomed, and the exceptional hospitality began with a sumptuous breakfast served in the comfort of our room. Immersing ourselves in the cultural experience, we savored the delicious breakfast on small tables, seated on the floor—a charming nod to authentic Korean dining. Rakkojae not only provided us with a luxurious stay but also an opportunity to embrace the rich traditions of Korea in a setting that seamlessly merged the old and the new.

Very nice and quiet place. Outside they conserve the "vintage look" of the house but inside they are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, bathroom, etc. Breakfats was simple but correct. If you come by car, you just have to be careful with the opening hours of the village. During the day, cars are not allowed inside the village.

Our staying at Rakkojae residence was a unique experience that far exceeded our expectations. We had two peaceful nights at a wonderful and cozy environment that resembles the traditional way of accommodation in Korea, enjoyed wonderful traditional and continental breakfast, spent the nights enjoying the wonderful views and sounds of the village and felt carried away by the different rhythm of life.

There were a lot of Korean houses. There you have to take a lot of pictures. These houses are unique and they have their characteristics. I am gonna be in byeongsan seowon and there will be great place. If you want to go Amdong, Let's ride on Andong City Tour Bus!

Loved it so much! After spending two nights at the Hilton Gyeongju this place was a welcome surprise. Clean, full of amenities- free ramen 😉, and basically escaping the hordes of visitors by enjoying a solitary walk in the morning. Breakfast was really tasty and sipping tea in front of the room on a misty morning is indeed magical. On-site manager is really friendly, the greetings from the cats was an added bonus. Highly recommended.
