The Signature Hotel

The only reason I stayed here is because this hotel was booked by Intrepid as part of a tour of Jordan. This is not a hotel I would have booked myself, as I believe there are far better hotels available in Amman. Due to my flight arriving in the early hours of the morning I arrived at the hotel around 4am. I asked if I could have my room early, and said I would pay for the early check in. The gentleman kindly obliged, but insisted I could only pay by cash and not by card - with no explanation as to why, when it clearly states on their website that they accepted both card and cash payments. When I did pay the JOD 25 on my departure I was not given a receipt. So call me suspicious, but it’s my belief that cash was not processed through the books, hence the insistence on cash payment. The room itself was pretty basic, but comfortable enough. I only slept for a few hours that first day, as I wanted to explore Amman and not spend all day in bed. I was pretty cold that first night and realised it was because the window did not fully close - there was a gap of around half a centimetre. So the following night I requested an extra blanket. The bathroom definitely needed updating, but it was more than adequate. I had WiFi in my room, but the television wasn’t working. I could also smell cigarette smoke in the room. I was provided with a large bottle of water each day. Breakfast was unimpressive. If you want toast, be prepared to stand there holding down the toaster! There is fruit available, but I question their freshness. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk from downtown, and I walked to the Citadel in under half an hour. Amman is very hilly, so be prepared for lots of steps and steep slopes. If you’re not in the best shape physically, you might be better off using taxis. To summarise: it’s my belief that there are far better hotels in more desirable locations for the same price (or less) in Amman. Would I recommend this hotel to my friends? No. Would I stay here again? No.

Spacious rooms and comfortable beds, very clean hotel with a friendly helpful staff. Nice lounge and a good quality of food . Great location 5 minutes walking to the downtown, lobby decoration are very nice . Management are very polite and professional they offer free upgrades

Good location and service. The hotel is located in the center and close to almost everywhere you like to visit in the city. Mr. Ali is the most helpful and kind staff. You should find him to have good service. Breakfast, room service and restaurant servis are also great. We like the cleaning quality. Staff was very friendly with us.

The hotel is very good place and the location is very perfect , the services is very good , the food is nice anf espicaillay the tradtional one , i will come back to the hotal , and i will recommend the hotel for my friends and my family hope a best of luck for the team

It’s a first time for me in this place , I was afraid from the hotel servics , but I was wrong the hotel was very nice and clean and everything was very good and nice , the prices also was very good even the loaction and the employees for sure it will not be the last for me

It was a very nice experience , the hotel has a very nice location plus a quiet place, the team was fast in responding for our requests , the traditional food was very nice , they have a high level of cleaning , I would like to revisit the hotel again next time

Do NOT stay at this hotel. It should be closed down as these people have no idea how to run a hotel. There is no heating at all in the public areas. It must have been 10 degrees outside and 10 degrees inside when we stayed! There were electric heaters in the bedrooms which took the chill off but the bedrooms and bathrooms did not look very clean. There was only one thin, dingy towel per person and no bathmat. There was just one coat hanger in the wardrobe. The water in the shower was barely lukewarm. The breakfast was extremely unappetising and eaten in a freezing cold room. A brochure in the room offered a full restaurant service throughout the day but the restaurant was closed apart from breakfast. The Wi-Fi was pitifully slow. On the plus side two free bottles of water were replaced every day and the TV had international channels. The location is good and this could be an excellent hotel if properly run.

The unbelievable hotel This has got to be one of the worst hotels in the world. One or two little issues are just part of travelling and you just roll with them but only use this place if the refuge for the homeless turns you away. Why: The sheets had not been changed since the last occupants No plug for the basin sink Air conditioning just made a noise but no cold air came out Electric plug socket so worn it wouldn't hold the plug to connect Shower was just a trickle, but we did get hot water unlike some of the others in our group. The bath enamel was chipped and stained TV didn't work TV remote had been glued back together after having perhaps been broken in two by some frustrated guest Windows were very dirty Extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. Carpets were worn and stained The mattress on the double bed had 2 dips in it for each person. The evevator was dirty as was the stairwell. The only good thing about the room was the electric kettle A very mediocre breakfast. The staff were helpful but let down by an owner or manager that has neglected this building for many years. The mostly hospitable and decent people of Jordan and the high standards of food found elsewhere in Jordan are being badly let down by this appalling place. Avoid at all costs.
