Seaside Amelia Inn doesn't deserve even a 1 star rating! It should be negative. I CALLED THREE TIMES (May 20, June 8, and 14 ) before our arrival to make sure the sofa bed was made for my kids, but my request was TOTALLY IGNORED. I called at 4:29pm on the day of our arrival to inform them that we are going to be checking in late because this is a long drive for us and to make sure again that the sofa bed was made. The woman who answered the phone told me she CANNOT GUARANTEE me that and she will pass it on. I paid $1,530 for 6 nights, and this is her answer? Where is she expecting my kids to sleep? On the floor? Right then, I knew I made a mistake booking at this hotel, but it was too late to cancel. Just FYI, this hotel doesn't have 2 queen beds. They only have one queen bed and sleeper sofa. Upon checking in at past 9pm, I asked the woman at the front desk (I didn't get her name) if the sofa bed was made, and she said "yes." Well, to my surprise the sofa bed was not made. So, I asked her why she lied to me, and she said she "misunderstood" me. She thought I asked if the sofa bed was not broken. Obviously, she was making excuses "made" and "broken" are totally different words and doesn't even rhyme. English is my 4th language, and I can differentiate those words easily. She pulled the sofa bed and we discovered it was broken. She brought up 2 roll-up beds, but there was no space to put them. The room was so small. Can you imagine the frustration when I called multiple times and all those times they just ignored me? We were extremely tired and hungry on top of that. The receptionist (long black haired woman) even asked me if I had proof that I called them 3x. The tone of her voice was extremely rude. Good thing I didn't delete my call history. We asked if they could transfer us to another ROOM but no availability. She said she would transfer us to their sister hotel down the road, which was Courtyard, and we could stay there for the full duration of our booking if we wanted to. Who would want to go back to Seaside after the treatment we got? Seaside was more expensive than Courtyard for obvious reasons they were on the beach and breakfast was included. My husband wanted to be on the beach, so we picked this hotel even though they were pricey. They refused to give us a refund. They said that Courtyard was more expensive. I have a screenshot of the prices that night and Seaside was more expensive. Common sense they are on the beach and breakfast was included. Courtyard farther down the road and breakfast not included. They can argue about the prices but I have proof on ********** where I always book. By the time we got settled in, it was already midnight. I asked them to give me the phone number of the OWNER of this hotel and both receptionist told me I have to speak to their manager. I asked if I could leave my number so their manager could call me, but they told me to come back Monday between 7 and 3 pm. This was Friday, so I had to wait until M

Overall, the stay was fine. The location was great and the view was nice. But when you’re paying almost $500 for two nights, you’d expect it to be cleaner. We found two roaches in our room, at least they were dead already, and an item that was left behind by previous guests that looked like some sort of folding comb. When I brought up concerns to the front desk all they could do was “leave a note for the manager”.

Avoid!!! We had a room where the AC did not work and they have refused to do anything to make the situation right. We literally slept with our door OPEN to the hallway just to get some cool air into our room since they told us they had no other rooms available and it was too late at night to do anything else about it. Liz, the manager will talk like she will do something about it and not follow through.

First, the facility was advertised as being handicapped accessible . That was definitely not true. It had quite a few steps to get to the front door. It did have a handicap ramp in the back which you could drive up to, however, if you wanted to leave the hotel, if you were handicapped with a walker or a wheelchair, there was no way you could’ve gotten out of there. You couldn’t go down the steps, and the ramp that you drove in the back was so steep you could never gotten a wheelchair down or back up. It was not clean. There was stains on the bathroom cabinet where somebody has dropped toothpaste and dribble down the front. There was no flat surface anywhere to put your personal items. There was no drawer storage nor shelf storage in the place to set things down. There was no room in the bedroom to even put a suitcase so that you could open it and use it. In order to use the coffee pot you’d had to take it down from on top of the refrigerator where it was stored and move it into the bathroom, which had a very small countertop in order to use it. The windows were dirty and fogged. It was considered a suite and had a small living room with a pullout sofa. The facility was informed that we would be using that sofa however, there there was no bedding, and when we called to ask for some, we were told that she would bring it up if she got time. We felt it was very overpriced and informed the front desk so and tried to talk with the manager. We finally did talk with her. She insisted that nobody would’ve ever said if she could bring it up, however that’s what the girl said to us. we asked for the phone number for her manager so she gave us a number. However, when we called it, it was a person who had worked for the hotel in sales in the distant past had nothing to do with any kind of management. We were very disappointed. We hoped for a reduction in price. We at least were able to get out of the extra two days and get a refundfor money. I would never recommend this property to anyone.

We had a reservation from Friday, June 14th-Monday,June 17th. We arrived at 11:00 am on Friday and were told that check-in was at 4:00. We said fine and went to the beach. Called at 3:00 TO SEE IF OUR ROOM WAS READY AND STILL TOLD NOT UNTIL 4:00. Came UP FROM THE beach AT 4:15 TO CHECK IN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE ROOM WAS STILL NOT READY. We asked the young girl at the desk, why and when would the room be ready, she said I don't know. We had a family engagement at 6:00 downtown, We then spoke to Jean, general manager. Not only was Jean rude but not helpful at all. She said there was an electrical issue in our room and didn't have another room available. We ended up leaving at luckily were able to secure a reservation at the Marriott. Imagine my surprise two days later when I received an invoice for a 3 day stay at Amelia Seaside. Took 3 phone calls and 2 e mails to get a refund. Never once did I get a call back or a response to my e mails. Not sure where Jean got her credentials to be a general manager but think she needs a refresher course!! Never would consider ever staying there again. Susan

Don't get me wrong- I appreciate their checking on our status. However, calling me late at night asking when we were going to arrive wasn't too pleasant- phone going off after 11 pm. I was afraid there was a family emergency. Turns out, they never got any of my 3 messages (voice, text and email) telling them that they were mistaken- the reservation they thought we still had in May had been canceled in December! They need to address their reservation system if they think they have a reservation that was canceled months before. I even sent them screenshots of the cancellation email from December when they sent me an email a few days before our expected arrival- evidently, even that didn't help. I wish them well, but they scared the heck out of me calling after 11 PM!

We got an off-season price at this oceanfront hotel. Our room was small but very nice and there were no noise issues. The location is ideal being next to a park on the ocean. There was plenty of underground parking. The breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Seaside staff provided excellent customer service when storms cancelled all flights from DFW - a rare occasion. We were booked for a quick 4 day trip but all flights were stopped and we were unable to visit; but immediately had communication and documented our flight issues with staff members. The GM , Liz was kind and showed extreme support in acknowledged our inability to 'get there from here'. We will be sharing the compassion shown along with rebooking for another trip to stay with Seaside Inn. Thank you for kindness shown and not seen very often in this day and time.

I can say the room was clean but main issue was for the price we paid was kind of ridiculous. The room was small was not like the pictures on the website at all. Guaranteed a beach facing balcony but the view was of the parking lot... we get a a hotel every few months for our away time from work and life in general, it just wasn't worth the money. We stayed at a Marriott last time paid less and the room was everything that was promised. We won't be coming back I'm sure. Huge waste of money.

I just returned from four nights at the Seaside Amelia Inn. I reserved a suite which was perfect for our party; myself, my daughter and my toddler granddaughter. The location right on Fernandina Beach is perfect and the quaint downtown is only about five minutes by car away. We appreciated the free breakfast and parking and the wonderful customer service from the front desk staff. The only downside is that it feels a little tired and could use a facelift. Other than, it was a perfect stay and I'd definitely stay there again.

Front counter staff was completely impersonable. Felt like I was talking to someone who had better things to do. Crappy parking setup, horribly depressing rooms. Felt like I was in a hospital or something. This place is straight crap don't waste your money.

Staying for one night was my birthday gift from my hubby and it was a fantastic gift! Room was clean, quite ( we faced the road and no issues). I didn't have any problems with Wi- Fi . BEST location- right on the beach!!!! My shell with my B'day is now with all the other shells and I hope hubby and I are able to return next year to celebrate again. BTW- The breakfast was DELICIOUS! SO many choices. Eggs were light and fluffy, bacon was perfect. Fruit said was fresh. Breakfast starts at 7 and we are very early risers and everything was ready. Kudos to the lovely lady who prepared everything.

The only reason that I gave a “3 Star” rating for this property is because of the staff! They were FANTASTIC! They were extremely accommodating and very expedient! When we originally drove up to the property, there were “many” workers on the floor that we were initially booked on. Once we got in the room (after we went out to dinner), there was an immediate issue with a undetected leak in the bathroom. The front desk “immediately” sent a maintenance person to the room and reassigned us to another room. Transferring to that room, we discovered that the television wasn’t connected to the system that the hotel was using. Again, the same maintenance person came to the room and quickly fixed the problem. Overall, it was a decent hotel apparently in the midst of renovations and we just went at a bad time. We would more than likely go again because of those facts. Thank you!

We arrived at 7pm after an 8 hour drive from Virginia . We entered our King Ocean view suite to find it dirty, bed unmade , and only a full size bed. Very upset...we checked out and went to a nearby Hampton. I was told I would get a full refund. Let's hope.

We loved our stay here, the room was cozy and the ocean view was great! Before we went, we were concerned about some of the negative reviews but honestly couldn’t disagree more. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was super convenient. Room was beautiful and parking was awesome. Quick walk out to the beach didn’t hurt Would stay again 100%
