The hotel is located on the shore, the beach is clean. There are not many people, so it is the best place for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is cozy, the staff is very friendly and professional. The food was also very tasty. We are very glad that we spent our weekend at this hotel.

I recently stayed at Hotel J in Ambalangoda and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff who were always willing to help. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Overall, a great stay!

"I stayed at Hotel J Ambalangoda recently and was impressed by its fantastic location and the friendly staff who served delicious food. It's a great place to chill and relax. However, it's evident that the owners are not maintaining the property well, and there seem to be no marketing strategies in place. It's a pity because with some improvements, this hotel could be a true gem!"

Pros: 1. Great service and friendly and helpful staff. 2.Amazing food portion for breakfast and dinner considering price of hotel however prices are steep dues to taxes and service charge. 3.Amazing beach view and pool. 4. Clean bathrooms Cons: 1. Room was not well maintained or cleaned even after telling them to clean. Overall experience considering the price I have to say very good but the cleanliness of the rooms we stayed was a major let down.

Location is great. Pool is clean and lovely. Has direct beach access. And service is also good. Only downside is food are bit expensive. But still a great hotel overall. Would recommend anyone to visit.

I visited this hotel with my wife and friend with his wife. We booked 2 city view rooms for 2 nights and both rooms were next to each other and we got a complimentary upgrade for both rooms to sea view room for 1 night. The pool and beach was fantastic. The pool could have been a bit more cleaner, but the water was cleaner the next day after a refill of water. Hoping to visit the same hotel in December again. Thank you so much J Ambalangoda. See you again soon :)

As a secondary brand of the Jetwing Hotels group, J Ambalangoda failed to live up to any expectation even on a budget level. Budget does not mean compromising o service or basic food quality, which, on both counts, this venue failed. Quite spectacularly. Simple requests like placing the meal on the outside patio or cabana by the beach, which belonged to the property were denied by inexperienced staff. Quality of oil used in food preparation was poor, resulting in poor food experience. You pay 4 to 6 dollars, you don't expect gourmet, but you expect decent food. Black pepper pork with the bristles of the pig still on the meat? This is not acceptable. Train your staff in the basics of hospitality. Now is the time budget hotels can attract guests, both local and foreign. Don't lose put by being mediocre. Food and service. Budget does NOT mean poor quality on either count.

I’m a repeat customer of this hotel. Love this place! Small Hotel, Nice Pool , Beach Front and Good food! Most importantly Mr Farrel Blom and his team doing a fantastic job there! Farrel is a good Manager and a fantastic chef too! Very nice experience 👍 I have been to Hotel J Ambalangoda 5-6 times. Quick drive from Colombo, beautiful pool, beach access, Pizzas🍕 and their breakfast has made me a regular here. New Manager Sharon is a very friendly, helpful gentleman and his new chef Zoysa’s pizzas and fried rice dishes are top class. Pool attendant Dileep knows his job very well and very helpful too. Parking available.
