Resort la Battigia Beach & Spa

· I like everything modern and elegant, and this hotel certainly is. The highlight of this resort is the spa but we were not there for this package, so I honestly do not know what it looks like. I heard it's great and relaxing! In some ways, the hotel is still new (2021 built) so the last floor (5th) was still not available and it will be a piano bar soon to open. It was not a big deal for my husband and me. The beach is the reason I travel to Sicily in general and to see family. The only pool they have is nice, but we used it scarcely. I wish they had a separate pool for children as they take over and I rather not use it. The view from our balcony was lovely. We spent a lot of time out in the nearby town of Castellammare del Golfo versus Alcamo Marina where the hotel is located as we had done on previous trips. The breakfast served downstairs (basement) was excellent and all the staff and personnel (front desk, barista, servers/attendants at the restaurants and breakfast area were polite and kind, as well as the shuttle driver when we used it once to reach the beach across the hotel. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Mini fridge well stacked but $$. Parking was not an issue for our rental car. At night, it was noticeably quiet, unlike other hotels and resorts. Shuttle service to the beach and sister hotel nearby is available free of charge. Disliked · It is much smaller than I imagined it. I visited the previous summer a huge and real resort style at another location in Sicily, so I would not call la Battigia a "resort" as it is a bit misleading; it's a genuinely nice and beautiful hotel with a lovely spa. The fancy look hides some "cheap" construction material where the builder may have cut some corners as happens in many places worldwide; however, whatever maintenance issue we experienced, it was addressed efficiently and expeditiously. One side of the door frame detached itself as we entered the room on one occasion, luckily, maintenance fixed it rapidly. The area surrounding the beach is not clean and needs some revamping. Overall, the place is a bit pricy for what is offered, and the location stands out as the only modern construction in the middle of old buildings. It's kind of weird. The only restaurant on site was expensive, and we preferred to use it only once and eat out. There's an underpass (shortcut) to reach the beach and lido of the hotel but we chose not to venture, plus, we had a car after all. Some of the most common amenities were not in the room: an ironing board and iron (had to ask for one) and the espresso coffee machine or plain old coffee machine is only available in certain rooms, most have a tea kettle. For coffee and espresso drinkers, this is a negative.

What a wonderful hidden gem!! The staff, the pool, the restaurant, and the rooms — top notch!! Would definitely stay again!!

Had a really lovely time here in August 2023. The staff, especially the great reception team, were excellent all round. Matteo was great at sorting us transfers from the airport and to our next stop prior to arrival (plus answering all our other questions). The private beach area at their sister hotel is a real highlight - one of the best beaches we've been to (they provide a shuttle there and back every 30mins). There was always space down there for us despite it being high season. The area is very popular with Italians but there weren’t many other tourists, which was quite nice. The food in the restaurant is high quality, we ate there at least 4 times between lunch and dinner. If you’re there more than a few nights it's good to go elsewhere too. There are some good restaurants down the beach but you have to walk back or drive after 6 when the shuttle stops. It's an excellent place for a quiet beach getaway!

The hotel is really nice but half the place is closed, pool bar, sky bar and roof terrace are closed. Definitely not a resort more like a B&B.

Fabulous hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. They made us feel very welcome and anything we wanted was provided. Spotlessly clean, modern, elegant bedroom with good equipment. Also, a lovely terrace. We ate in the restaurant. Good menu and beautifully presented food to a very high standard. We will return.

Understand that this property is NOT on the beach. There is a shuttle that takes visitors 0.8 miles to the beach property of a sister hotel. We asked to be moved to the hotel Battaglia, which was on the beach. That beach and outdoor area were lovely.

The property was not well landscaped as pictured, the pool was surrounded by a stone wall and there was a loud train on the road beside that is not pictured/described in the photos. we had also asked for a an infant bed for my 18 month old son, which turned out to have BED BUGS. my son woke with horrible red itchy bites all over his face and hands after our stay here. Would not recommend. very disappointing and could have caused a lot of harm to my sons health. we spent days upon our return home washing all our belongings very carefully to make sure the bed bugs were not brought back into our home. A lot of our sons belongings had to be thrown out and this cost us a lot of money.

Nice modern hotel that has potential to be better. Badly let down by location, maybe in 10 years there will be investment in the area. Some staff were great, let down by others indifference. Food mediocre.

It was a beautiful place and the hotel staff was amazing especially the front desk.
