"You can look at my profile--you'll see that I tend to be a critical reviewer. My hobby is fixing up houses, so I notice things that many people overlook. Israeli hotels, even the top ones, have problems with quality control--a swivel mirror doesn't swivel, the sticker from the hair dryer that still has ancient glue stuck on it, the caulk in the bathroom that was white a some time ago. Little things, lots of them. But this place? Can there really be perfection in a hotel? In Israel of all places?! This place belongs in Denmark or Finland or in some Platonic eidos of pure forms. Its quality is unmatched. Seriously. The tiniest details are tended to: tasteful fixtures, a balcony perfectly equipped with high-quality matching table and chairs, plush towels, a breakfast to die for, and people at the front desk who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and easy. I could go on. When I read the other reviews, I said, yeah, sure. I'll find something not to like. I was wrong. Really. I've never stayed in a hotel in Israel that cares as much about quality as Erna Shtarkman. Bravo!"

"Pasamos tres días y dos noches en este maravilloso lugar. Tenemos la sensación de que este resort no está diseñado para turistas extranjeros, sino como tesoro para la población local. La comida era muy buena - muy generosas bufetes en el desayuno y la cena y había muchas actividades para las familias (mini golf, actividades organizadas de niños, canciones juntos, etc.). Nos hemos beneficiado del spa (no somos "pessoas de spa"), pero pasamos mucho tiempo en la hermosa piscina. Uno de los aspectos más agradables de nuestra estancia allí fue que se permitió quedarse en el terreno y utilizar las instalaciones incluso después de que nos hubiéramos verificado. El hotel está en una zona de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el centro de la ciudad."

"People sometimes mention friendly hosts but this time it's really a great host, not just friendly. Just a few examples: 1. Our "agency" which used booking for us didn't bother to send us his phone number, and we arrived late, but Nzar waited for us there. 2. There's a kitchen, and everything there is included in the stay, so we could make a supper for ourselves instead of eating what snacks we took in the lounges for the flight and beyond. 3. We had to leave early in the morning, but he gave us a lift at 7:30 in his car - i mean, 7:30! Getting up this early is a nightmare and he did it for random guests. The place itself is... well, it's typical Israel so don't expect much, but at least the most critical things - bedsheets, towels (unlimited btw!) were clean so that's what matters. Also, the building is old, so 6 meter high ceilings are a plus. Just make sure to get a special pair of slippers for the shower. BTW, no mold (!). As for the balcony... yeah. Well. I could live on it. What a view"

"Staying at the Zidan Sarai, meaning going 800 years back to the middle ages but with updated facilitations. The suit is huge, composed of 2 rooms, kitchen and hammam. The place provides a pleasant oriental atmosphere. It is located in a great spot, 2 minutes from the harbour, 2 minutes from the old market. Highly recommended."
