Aquí está la casa de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el hotel. El uso constante del ascensor por parte de los constructores hace mucho tiempo esperando por el ascensor, por lo que tuvimos que usar las escaleras. La peor tendencia es que no hay servicio de limpieza de habitaciones en los fines de semana, así que si vienes en una noche de viernes puedes esperar que tu habitación se vea como un sedimento hasta el domingo. No me importa esta tendencia en absoluto. Ni siquiera cambian las toallas. Ugh. La TV es muy difícil de trabajar y tuvimos que llamar al escritorio dos veces cuando nos sentamos en once porque no había colchones y una vez porque no había secador de pelo. The Hilton Garden Inn is located within the Rochester University campus and only 5 minutes away from the wonderful and historic Mount Hope Cemetery. The hotel has a nicely decorated and welcoming lobby, with a restaurant on site that serves breakfast in the morning (my visit included the breakfast plan since I do not like going to look for breakfast in the morning). There were two comfortable double beds and a nice large bathroom in the room. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fluffy. The breakfast off the menu was good. I did not use the buffet but it did not appear to have a large variety. The hotel is a good jump off point to explore the Erie Canal, the fall colours of the Finger Lake District or just to walk along the Genesee River waterfront trail (which is lovely for walking and riding). So now for my issue with the housekeeping policy (not the housekeepers I would like to add). And yes, I am going to get political here! We were told upon arrival that because of Covid the rooms would be cleaned on the fifth day of stay or if we request it by calling before 8am the day we wanted to have the room cleaned. OK, policy understood! Some people can go for days without needing the room cleaned, I am not one of those people. One of the things I like most about staying in hotels is having daily housekeeping and arriving back in the room with the bed made and fresh towels if I leave them in the bath tub (which I do not do everyday). So twice we called, before 8 am to make the appointment. The phone rang for a long time, eventually we spoke to the front desk and the person took the room number and confirmed the request. Twice the room housekeepers never came and the room was never cleaned. What the hotel and the Hilton chain, as a whole, will not freely admit is that they have turned housekeeping into a ”gig” economy. The housekeepers are suppose to wait each day for a call. If they get a call, they work, if they not, no work. No work, no pay. So, to the surprise of no one, those mostly women of color were smart enough to get a regular and better paying job else, with guaranteed hours. That has left a smaller pool of available housekeepers. The hotel chain is making excessive profits on the backs of the lowest paying people in the hotel business. In addition, they do not tell you when you book that the room rate does not include housekeeping (so ask before booking), they do not amend the rates because they no longer clean the rooms. Same rates less service! There is simply something wrong with that business model that I cannot move on from as a traveler. In the future, I will be vetting the house keeping policy for all hotels before book.

Does not deliver Marriott experience in many ways. To note, I was staying at the Roch Airport Fairfield Inn for business on a Thursday and Friday night - just so happens, the PGA Championship was also in Rochester that week... Thursday night check in and sleep - no problem. Beds are ok. However, I did notice a faint smell of something I would describe as a combination of cigar smoke and mold. Not nice. Friday breakfast rather disappointing. Hot breakfast starts at 8am but when I arrived at 8:10, they were already out of all of the hot items for breakfast and no water in sight. Kitchen staff looked puzzled as to where the food had gone and took their time bringing out more. Food was welcomed and good. No water - get it from the workout room or front desk I was told. Really? Many chairs broken and uncomfortable to sit in. Went to shower after. No hot water. Shower handle barely moves. I do my best to wash in cold water (sink wasn't much better) and tell them at the desk of the issue. They seemed to have known about this! Told me ”it was supposed to be fixed yesterday” blah blah whatever. I would like another room then. NOPE - full up. It is PGA weekend! They did not suggest that all of the hot water MAY have been used up by the other guests...they knew they had an issue. Friday night about 10pm. Did they fix the hot water in my room? No one knows. Can I have another room? Nope - full up. I check the shower, no hot water and handle is now what I would call broken - would not shut off all the way. Guess I expected the no hot water thing but the broken handle? What is going on? Did maintenance mess something up more-so? I was awoken at aprox 11:30pm by the hotel manager knocking then entering my room - while I was sleeping. He immediately accuses me of ”flooding the whole hotel”. WHAT are you talking about?? The broken shower apparently was filling up the service space behind the shower...flooding my room floor, the next room over and 3 rooms below. He notices the handle is broken and shuts of water from service space. Strange thing then happens: he immediately produces keys for another room just around the corner. Other rooms miraculously became available for me and for 3 other guests. Truly a miracle when you have been told twice that they are full and there are no other rooms for you. Reality: they had rooms. Bigger rooms. No other amenities - just more floor space as it was a corner room. No one initially wanted to spend the 6 mins to type and change my room - so laborious. I had to ask for the one night compensation - they were not going to give that to me. NOPE. DAB

Está muy cerca del aeropuerto, se puede llamar al autobús del aeropuerto, incluso a las tres de la medianoche. Debería hacer la mejor opción para el avión de la mañana. La mañana se terminó un poco antes, se terminó a las nueve, pero puedes pedirle al camarero que le diera algo de comida. Entramos en el edificio y había un caballero en la zona del escritorio delantera en el teléfono y un par de damas en la zona del desayuno conversando. Nos quedaron los minutos para que el tipo se fuera del teléfono, cuando una de las damas se levantó y preguntó cómo el pareja nos ayudaba. La habitación estaba en el lado pequeño, fechada y el mueble en ella estaba llevado. La mesa en la habitación que nos dio estaba en sus últimas piernas. Las camas y el frigorífico estaban bien. Había una microondas que no usábamos. También había una Keurig y 4 cafeteras/tea. El baño era subpar. El tubo estaba encima. Había un mat de goma en el tubo que se levantó parcialmente cuando usaba el tubo. No estoy seguro si era un mat de goma o un mat de goma y no me atrevía a levantarlo para comprobar. La piscina estaba cerrada. El desayuno era bueno, 2 tipos de huevos y carne para elegir, así como pan, fruta, cereales. La máquina de panqueques se rompió.

Cuando encontré un incendio, abrí la puerta y me quedé un rato en el pasillo. El personal corrió, pero nadie me dijo que evacuara. Entonces no tuve que salir. El fuego siguió. Abrí las cortinas y miré hacia afuera. El personal que había evacuado al espacio abierto me vio e hizo un gesto para que me dejara salir cuando llegaron los camiones de bomberos. No organizaron, supervisaron y verificaron eficazmente la evacuación de los huéspedes, pero el incendio no era grave. El último día, la limpieza nos alejó de las tazas con los cepillos de dientes. Debe ser obvio que no es basura, porque hay cepillo de dientes y pasta de dientes en su interior, así como hilo dental y cepillo interdental. Y no hubo ningún problema con el lanzamiento de los días anteriores. extraño. La actitud de los camareros individuales de la recepción fue fría. Otros son aceptables.

Cuando fui allí, la ropa no estaba muy gastada. Me despreciaron un poco, pero fui más educado al registrarme. El hotel tiene una ubicación céntrica, está completamente equipado y las habitaciones son cómodas, limpias y ordenadas. Los huéspedes que hacen el check-in son más formales, simplemente se encontraron con una reunión de clase. El día de la salida, se esperaba que el teléfono se retrasara una hora y se confirmó.

He estado en varios hoteles en Henrietta en los últimos meses, hijo es un estudiante allí. No soy un tipo de ”todo tiene que ser perfecto”, pero por el precio, me gustaría ciertas cosas. Cuando me inspeccioné, no tenían a la persona en mi frente en su ordenador, así que tomó un tiempo para que lo inspeccionara. Cuando llegó, me pregunté si podía quedarme en un solo lugar. No estaba seguro de si mi hijo se quedaría allí o no, así que dije que quería un doble (lo que había reservado). La persona del escritorio delantero no se le dijo qué habitaciones estaban limpias, así que se fue, tuvo que ir arriba a algún lugar para obtener una lista de mantenimiento de casas. He elegido el piso que quería. El segundo piso. La primera cosa que vi fue el olor. Es un hotel ”no fumador” pero aparentemente no fue forzado. De hecho, una persona anterior que estuvo en mi habitación había fijado un bolso de plástico sobre el detector de humo para evitar que se fuera. No quería tratar de equilibrar en la silla para tratar de quitarlo, Así que el detector de calor en la habitación confió en que me alertaría si había un incendio. No iba a cocinar en la habitación. Porque no había café, quería calentar un poco de agua en la microonda de té, miraba por las cabinas de muebles, un copo, cualquier cosa que pueda usar en la microonda o en el horno, no hay nada en la habitación. Me parado por el escritorio y pedí algo para calentar el agua en una microonda, como un muelle. Me dio una taza de plástico, como las de la baño, No es seguro para la microonda. Si quieres usar la microonda o la hornada, trae tus propias platas, supongo, dice que puedes pedir platos/ potes en el escritorio delantero, pero no funcionó para mí. Después de que pasó el olor al humo (y abrió la ventana para que se abriera un poco de aire fresco, abrieron alrededor de 3 pulgadas), me di cuenta de que la cama era pequeña. Tengo una cama reina en casa, esto no era una reina. También tengo una llena, y bastante seguro que era más pequeña que una llena. Dos personas podrían estar bien, pero no sería cómodo, a menos que realmente, realmente querían cuchillar juntos. Fui a un juego de hockey, volví a las 10:30. De entonces a las 1:30 parecía que alguien más que yo estaba moviendo camas alrededor. No podía decir exactamente cuánto tiempo porque el monitor de alarma se rompió. Me acostumbraba al ruido de la habitación del hotel, no esperaba que fuera tranquilo, esto era realmente, muy alto. Dejé la televisión para tratar de ahogar algunos de los golpes. No podía verlo porque es un pequeño 19 pulgadas (aproximadamente), sentado en una mesa inferior, así que, sentado en la cama, no podía verlo realmente, pero al menos podía escuchar. La luz de la TV me ayudó a cruzar la habitación, sólo había un plug por la cama (que tuvo que mover la cama para llegar), así que si querías el reloj de alarma y un teléfono celular, no podías usar la luz. Me encantaría dormir en 3 horas.

Reality: they had rooms. Bigger rooms. No other amenities - just more floor space as it was a corner room. No one initially wanted to spend the 6 mins to type and change my room - so laborious. I had to ask for the one night compensation - they were not going to give that to me. NOPE. DAB

Nunca había vivido en la Quality Inn antes, no pensé que mis camas y calzones tenían un pañuelo amarillo. Entonces no se desnudará la noche y se lavará el día siguiente. Pero no hay agua caliente en 10 minutos. Y luego, salir hasta que el conductor Uber. volvió a 2 y no encontró el hotel. Finalmente, el cliente llegó a buscar, dijo que la navegación fue hacia atrás del hotel, y me encontró con inteligencia. Finalmente, vale la pena mencionar que el servicio de recepción es bueno, me ha guardado el equipaje, me preocupa que mi Uber no reciba el mensaje.
