I arrived in Taupo on the morning Air NZ flight from AKL, upon arrival at the Chevron Motel, 4 hours before the published check-in time, I had planned to ask to have my luggage stored while I go about other business. The receptionist kindly asked me to wait while she checked to see if my room was ready, and if so, I could have my room right away. Lucky for me it was, I was very pleased with the initiative and flexibility offered. My booking included a living area with dining table, kitchen, sofa, spare single bed, a separate bedroom, and a dedicated parking space. My stay of 5 nights was very comfortable, and I will definitely use this motel again on my next visit. I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvements, first - a split type AC unit was present in the living room, it would be great if there could be a second unit installed in the bedroom. Internet connectivity, available 24/7, while adequate, did have limited bandwidth affecting video streaming from Netflix/YouTube etc. Lastly, it would be great if the TV provided in the living room had a larger screen. In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at the Chevron Motel, the room offered great value for money, and I was completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay.

I had a great stay at this hostel, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The common areas were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere for meeting other travelers. I ended up making some new friends here, and we realized we were planning to visit many of the same places, so we explored together. That really made my trip even more memorable. The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, and I was impressed with the overall experience. The only issue I encountered was with late check-in. My bus arrived much later than expected, so I wasn't able to arrange an after-hours check-in in advance. I understand that the instructions were provided by email, but I did have a moment of panic because I was asked to call the hostel's phone number. Since I was traveling with only an eSIM and didn't have a New Zealand phone number, I wasn't able to make the call. It would be great if there were an alternative way to contact the hostel for late check-ins, such as WhatsApp, email, or an online messaging system. Overall, this hostel went beyond my expectations, and I'd definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Nos quedamos como una familia de 4 habitaciones eran emaculativamente limpias, las camas eran hermosas y muy generosas, la leche local en hermosas botellas de vidrio que conectan la comunidad rural local fue un gran toque.Todos los aparatos eran nuevos y silenciosos, que significa que todos dormimos muy bien. Glenys nos dio muchos consejos sobre dónde llevar a los niños, piscinas locales calientes fueron golpeados y el dominio a la puerta de la puerta con jardines de parque y cortes de baloncesto para diversión familiar gratis, el geyser explosivo fue un gran entretenimiento, La ubicación es muy agradable para todos los paseos de la MT Te aroha, supermercado y tiendas fácilmente a pie del motel. El servicio era el segundo a ninguno. Rod y Glenys fueron increíbles hostes que fueron arriba y más allá para asegurarnos de que todos tuvimos la mejor estancia. Tenemos problemas de coches, y abrieron su garaje y tiempo para ayudarnos a volver a la carretera para siempre gratos. Volveremos pronto y hemos contado a todos nuestros amigos y familia de nuestro nuevo motel favorito

Located in a quiet area, roughly 10 minutes walk from the Tourist Centre. The reception is always empty and only open a few hours during the day. We couldn’t drop off our suitcases as we arrive at 10am. I wrote to the hotel in advance enquiring about it in advance ibut no response

El hotel está al lado del lago, la ubicación es más cómoda, no lejos del avión McDonald's, la habitación de paisaje del lago reservada, el edificio delantero está en construcción, la mesa de pie está ligeramente viendo la línea, las condiciones de higiene son generales, hay cabello en la cama, el ventilador no es bueno para el uso. Pero el precio es razonable en el entorno.

房間不大比較乾淨，尤其衞生間很好，熱水充足。入住Turangi為湯加里羅一日穿越TAC那條線，這裏距離結束點停車場近。熱情周到的房主幫助聯繫了車輛送我們到徒步起點，讓我們有個完美的一日穿越，非常感謝，有機會來時還住這裏。房東是國人溝通方便，也希望同胞多來爬山。

When l arrived at the Motel l found out that when l was doing the booking l should have taken note that there is no reception on site.When l rang the purported site the call was not a friendly one.I took an uber to collect the keys .And soon as l opened the door to my room which was room 9 l was discombobulated.It appeared no house keeping had been done prior to my moving in.The bins were all full of rubbish.The bedding had not been changed .Two McDonald’s empty drinks by the sink area.Two cups and a spoon in the sink see photos.I was then moved to room 7 which appeared to be clean but that inconvenience made me enraged😡

El hotel tiene un pequeño hotel con instalaciones básicas y no sabía que había cocina hasta que nos fuimos. Es un buen punto de parada, pero la mayoría de la ciudad se cierra temprano o tiene largos fines de semana, así que asegúrese de que tiene suministros antes. Cuando llegamos allí no había recepción, tenía un número y una persona a llamar, la entrada es un poco complicada ”en torno a la espalda” ...yep eso es exactamente lo que es.

Hygate Motel offers a quiet and clean environment that made for a comfortable stay. The room was spacious and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities conveniently provided. The bed was especially comfortable, and the location was close to shops and cafes. There was also ample parking space, which made everything more convenient. Overall, a highly satisfying experience for the price.
