Booked & checked in online which was very easy but to check in online you will need your drivers license or passport information so have this to hand. On arrival I found the staff very friendly and helpful and got shown to the room quickly and efficiently. They had 3 really good well kept real ales and a variety of really good lagers and ciders. Everything was spotlessly clean the food was excellent what more cld you ask with really friendly staff with a warm greeting

Best stay ever! Arranged to meet a close friend at a half way point for us for a sleepover catch up in a twin room. Jokingly asked for “something to make us smile as we have had a tough time lately ” as my guest request and the manager outdid herself! Chocolate treats, muffins and a game of swear snap! We had the best time catching up, giggling over wine and a takeaway and playing swear snap. Just brilliant and made our stay extra special. Room super clean and cosy and fridge and microwave a bonus. We curled up on the sofa and gossiped away. Nice touch having face flannel and nice toiletries and hot choc available too. Breakfast was lovely and the lady serving it was so nice. Absolutely lovely stay and we will be back!

We went with our family for meal out and because they had ribs on the menu as my partner wanted these for a meal. We had starters which were presented very nicely however my sister and I shared halloumi fries with sweet chilli sauce which were very greasy. The ribs both partners had were clearly the shop prepacked ribs you can purchase is Lidl and not good value at all. My sister and I both had the spinach, chick pea and potato curry, this was awful. No taste and so hot spice wise I couldn't eat it.. The bar manager was kind enough to knock the two curries off the bill as we didn't eat it. I would say bog standard food for high prices! In all honesty we wouldn't go back again.

This review is for the stay and breakfast only, I have posted another review for my evening meal. First off, this is a beautiful location, some parking around the back and the staff here are friendly and attentive. The room is dated a bit, the room I had (#6) was on the ground floor which was pretty small with no cupboard space but that wasn't an issue for me. The bathroom looked newer than the room and everything inside was what I needed. The shower wasn't the most powerful but it did the job. Utilities There was free WiFi which was needed as you don't get a signal, the room was a good temperature and the TV (Sharp) worked well if a little too high on the wall. Towels presented nicely on the bed on arrival and tea's/coffee and a kettle in the room. Iron board you had to locate and bring to your room. Unfortunately I have some negative comments. - There was dust around the room. - I could hear the people walking around and chatting above me. Luckily they didn't move much during the night. - The window was missing a piece for the catch. - The pillows were quite thin. - Worst of all unfortunately was the bed, The mattress was so worn I could feel all the springs, this is probably the main reason people book a room and should be the main thing to get right. Breakfast was brilliant, again friendly service and a really tasty meal with excellent coffee. Printer was down on checkout but the invoice was kindly sent to me. I am saddened to score this place so low on my stay as I really did like the location and the staff. I am not sure if the other rooms are better, I could overlook everything else but the mattress for me puts me off a repeat stay.

It’s clean and basic but room for improvements. We arrived late on Wednesday night and our room was directly behind the reception area and the room was very small. The room is clean and basic however the bed was extremely uncomfortable and seemed to be faulty as it dipped to one side. We also were left one bath towel for two guests so we had to ask for another towel. The bathroom was extremely tiny and unmovable. You have to push the shower door in to climb in very awkward to get in and out of. If you were a solo traveller you might get away with this room however I personally believe the room should be used as an office for the staff as it just did not meet guest standards. Or remove the bath and have a walk in shower instead as another option. However the hotels location is very handy with walkable distance to shops and cafes etc. The hotel has WiFi, smart TV’s and full length mirror and dressing table in rooms which do help make the room better. Also quite noisy so if you’re a light sleeper it’s not too great.

We had a wonderful stay. Hotel room was fairly new and spotlessly clean. Good size room with a fridge, and everything you needed. Breakfast was delicious, hot selection lcooked fresh to order, tastes much better and no waste. Good selection of continental foods. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel but restaurant looked nice. There is a pub across the road that was welcoming and good food, and prices. The gym is small but well equipped. We hope to come back sometime
